Junaid on the other hand is different and seems like a good prospect and so far hasn't been tried.

I'd put money on Milne or Sherlock being given a run in the 20/20s, just for the selectors to have a look and give the bowler a small taste.
It's great to see Sherlock playing 4-5 matches in a row this season. Have a horrible feeling it's borrowed time for the poor bugger though.
Trent Boult another they might look at, and he would deserve it too. Can't think of too many bowlers who have done better than him this season in the 20/20s.

So who as the better attack NZ or Pakistan
Reckon Gul > Martin
Reckon the other Pak seamers will be about equal to anything NZ can offer.
I don't think either attack will worry the better batsman although the pitches could cause some problems.

Yeah i agree Pakistan's attack is better but New Zealand bowlers in NZ conditions are still a handful at times. I think players like Younis Khan and Ryder will not find it overly hard to score runs if they put their heads down.

Pak attack is better but Pak seem to be having too many things off the field to allow them to concentrate.

Dude....Misbah is the captain...lets be realists for now.
I would never bat YK that low the order he is our best batsman...either 1 down position or max 2 down position ahead of Shafiq and ahead of Misbah.....Plus we need a 3rd seemer in NZ.....and no YK is not a seemer.....so Riaz and Gul are not enough...
my take ..considering Alam is not part of the test squad but Khurram Manzoor did get a call up...for his exploits in Pak A side.

I think that team would trouble New Zealand. I am surprised there is no M.Yousuf in the squad but i guess he is getting on a bit. If they had Amir, Asif and Yousuf they could beat any team in the world barring South Africa.

I guess so. Especially if you go by the theory that your bowlers win you matches. But Pak batting is just terrible.

But yeah, that article is itstl, and not his best. You pick your best eleven players and let them play however they play best, not try and play to a certain type. Parore is overthinking there imo.

If you combine all forms of the game and look at New Zealand since 2000, we only have worse home win-ratio records against Australia and South Africa. Pakistan's third just ahead of Sri Lanka. Ironically we have a better recent home record against India than Pakistan, although much of that owes to the 2002/03 tour so I admit that the timeframe for my stats are a bit outdated.
