Someone else mentioned Tremlett in there as well. When he got his wickets he just stayed out of all the sledging. It was quite refreshing. I think while they are batting it is fine but i don't think they should do it when they have actually taken the batsmens wicket already.
Giving a send off is pretty dire I reckon. Nothing wrong with giving lip in between though

Whether an England or Australian supporter, you have to admit if Australia win this the series becomes so much more exciting. Would be a massive anti-climax if England win this.
Yeah and on top of that you could say goodbye to Ponting's career as well.

I'm not at all opposed to giving a batsman a few choice words if you've had him in a tangle with a well-directed bouncer for example. It's not for everyone, obviously, but in no way do I object to it - within reason of course. It just adds colour and spark to the game.

I'm not sure I agree with send-offs though. Part of the point of verbals is to unsettle the opposing player, once you've got him out your job is done. But, again, it's about passion and the blood is flowing, so I'll let it slip.

Yeah the atmosphere for the boxing day test will be electric if we go in 1-1

Odd then that in the home SA series we lost the two tests Symonds played in an ugly manner and dominated the one he didn't.
I don't think so, no. Symonds was so obviously horribly unfit, especially in the second test when he couldn't even run in the field. He should never have been selected. Being dropped for the India tour was pretty much the end of Symonds.

Would give them a lot of confidence leading up to the world cup tbh. Watched Brett Lee bowl the other day btw. He was getting spanked by NZ domestic batsmen in the 20/20 comp down here.

Really doubt it. Still think he would stay on as a batsmen. He would probably only lose his captaincy, but that's only a good thing imo.
I seriously doubt Ponting would play on without the captaincy. It's not something that Australian Cricket has done for 25 years.

Yeah i don't think that's the way he would want to go out either. Under the captaincy of Michael Clarke the girls blouse

I reckon him playing under Clarke is possibly the only way he could live without the captaincy IMO. One because he's played about 60 tests along side him, a significant amount of those with Clarke as VC, and two because he's so much more of a forceful, influential personality and figure in cricket circles that he could run the team by proxy if he wanted to anyway.

Yeah but i rarely works out that way tbh. Stephen Fleming handed the test captaincy over to Vettori and he lasted only a few tests as a batsmen before calling it quits.

Extremely unlikely Ponting would play on as a batsman only, as unlikely as him dropping down the order, or putting away the pull shot, or Clarke giving away the moisturiser

Well then he simply won't last if that's true. Clarke as captain represents his best shot at staying in the side IMO. Not least because Clarke would probably give half a limb to have him there.

I don't want Ponting to retire either tbh. I hope he scores a couple of centuries before this series is over. He deserves at least to go out a legend.

**** i would wear moisturizer if it meant getting Lara Bingle for a while or whatever her name was.
I mean seriously, what is with you clowns. He's Michael Clarke, he can have anyone he wants, That chick was a complete ****wit, she's a dime a dozen, i'd rather go down to the local netball game then come home and beat off.
