Yeah, Gilly has played some great great knocks but that one was just a nice farewell really.

Swann bowled one over in the first session didn't he? Anderson was not that flash yesterday morning tbf. Much like Hilf today really - ok but not Adelaide or Brisbane standard by any stretch.

My point stands, for whatever reason something clicked today and he got on a roll. Might be the familiarity of the WACA, or the runs he got in the 1st inns, or the gee up from Jimmeh.

Bet it had nothing to do with bowling in the nets though.

Its no one's fault really. Gilchrist putting on 100 had close to 0 impact on that game because England were out of the game by the time he came into bat. Theres a reason why the likes of KP were bowling during that innings. For the last 2 or so years of his career was a very very very ordinary player, in fact Id argue that Australia would have been better off with Haddin.

Of course dont let that stop you and the rest of the Gilly maniacs on this forum from thinking that he played the knock of a lifetime in that game.

Theres a reason why the likes of KP were bowling during that innings. Gilly's glovework alone justified picking him over Haddin, except for that last horror-series against India.
