The Tiger King
The saffers who play county cricket somehow without qualifying as an overseas player. Usually they claim an English Great Uncle or something like that I believe.

And Tsotsobe isn't that bad, I still mantain that. Obviously he's nothing special but he can develop into a solid swing bowler given the chance.
Tsotsobe was superb against Pakistan. But then Pak have a history of making ordinary bowlers look exceptional.

A bit harsh for Lopsy. He had an immense series in Pakistan. I'd give him one or two more tests to prove himself if he can't get his rhythm right in the 2nd innings. They have no valid replacements outside of Parnell who have potential.
Never rated him tbh

At his pace, you have to be really special and he simply isnt IMO

He wasn't saying they needed four scary bowlers though. The point is that, as good as Steyn and Morkel are, their other bowlers aren't even Test standard. Even if they found bowlers the quality of Ojha and Sreesanth it'd improve their team markedly. If you ranked the specialist bowlers from the two teams in the series (ie. no Kallis) then South Africa would have two of the top three and then probably not see another bowler in the top ten. India aren't known for their bowling but I think Zaheer, Sreesanth, Harbhajan, Ojha, Sharma and Mishra are better than South Africa's change bowlers. I'm sure they'd gladly take Kartik or Chawla if they had the option too. Kallis is good but given his vital batting role he can't be expected to bowl the overs of a genuine first change and Lopsy, Harris, Botha, McLaren, Parnell etc aren't really up to it IMO.
Really? What I've seen of Tsotsobe I thought he was a lot better than Ishant Sharma.
Let's not forget either than Friedel De Wet is out injured and would be up near the top of that list otherwise.

That was the ODI series though, wasn't it ? He didn't play the test series.

Just checked that SA scored 400+ last year at Centurion in their first innings against England's attack. What will they do to ours, without Zaheer?

We're ****ed.

First post after a long time heh. Currently in South Africa in Port Elizabeth. Met Zaheer and Gambhir at the Jo'burg airport on the 12th. Unfortunately I had nothing good to get an autograph on so I got one on my boarding pass :/

Was at a fast food place watching the game for a while earlier. Every time a wicket fell Saffers would stare at me and smile at my reactions

Did they just assume you weren't South African Indian or were you all touristy? :-O

The Wheel is Forever
Ashes: England have played four warmups and three matches. India land and start playing on a SA wicket after being in the subcontinent for a year and a half.

Shocking collapse this :p.

Unadkat seemed to be terrified at the crease. Hope we can restrict the Saffers here. Let us see if the new found Indianism can save this test here. :P

Just watching the highlights. Jeez they were jaffas from Dale to get VVS & Sachin, eh? High quality fast swing bowling.

Raina looks to be badly out of his depth as well.

Dale did it in past against VVS with identical deliveries.

Looks like VVS is not good against quick out swinging full pitch deliveries.

Had a jacket and jeans on. Maybe my camera gave it away? Anyways, SA's ****ing cold as hell :/ The safaris are incredible though, really beautiful.

Whoah! Just seen the scorecard... The biggest surprise... Suresh Raina is still in there? Did he not play badly enough at home vs. a stuttering New Zealand side? Aren't there a multitude of other options for his position who are in better form? Surely a 2nd innings failure will see him become the drinks-carrier on the sidelines?

Looks like Harbhajan continued his form with the bat though.
