Can't wait for this series to start....

Battle of probably the best 2 teams currently.
Only according to the ratings, it'd be hard pushed to go past England purely on form at the moment wouldn't it? Not often a team wins by an innings against Aust in their backyard

I think all the fans predicting the Indian bowlers to do well need to get a reality check tbh.
If we based the predictions on the last time our bowlers played on conditions slightly helpful to them, then expecting them to do well is pretty much bang on.

tff, most teams would fancy their chances against the current Australian team.

That is such a poor way of looking at it.

Biggest difference between this series and the one in 06/07 in SA is that Amla and Devilliers have improved leaps and bounds.

Prince in fact was the only batsman that got any runs for SA that series, yet India only managed to get 20 wickets once from the 3 matches.

It's the battle of the best two teams over the last 24 months. But clearly on form England are better than South Africa, and probably India too (haven't seen India play away for a while to properly say, but it looks that way).

Despite the history and all that, India has a big chance to win this. Too much pressure on Steyn and Morkel. They can't have a bad day at all for SA to win it.

Not a big chance but we will be fielding our best possible line up against SA in quite some time. Much like England are this Ashes.

India and SA are still the top 2 teams for me and England a close 3rd.

You have missed on Zaheer's growth since that last series and Ishant is much better than VRV or Munaf.

Our batting is in better shape considering that we have a settled and formidable opening pair.

SA's batting lineup certainly has come on leaps and bounds. They have the strongest middle order in the world, across different conditions.

It's going to be very interesting.

And how do you expect our bowling unit to take SAF's 20 wickets?

My main worry is not Indian batting but Indian bowling.

Indian bowling being crap is a myth imo. They've done fine in bowler friendly conditions (Sreesanth in SA, RP Singh IIRC in England). And the bowling is much stronger this time around.

Despite being injured for most of the period, Has Sree evolved as a bowler from the '06 version? I think so.

Has Zaheer become a better bowler? **** yeah.

Are our Batsman in better form? Yes.

Only drawback is we'll miss Kumble.

Can't ****ing wait

you mean the same England that got a 2-1 at home against them in 5 tests and the same India that blanked Australia 2-0 in 2 tests ????? :p

He misses quite a lot that are not Australian, going by his posting history.. :p

Is this the series between the 2 top teams in the world based on the last 2 or 3 years? Yes. Is England coming on well? Yes, but let us wait for them to sustain something over more than 2 tests before jumping on to anything. It is funny that certain posters who thought India didn't DESERVE to be #1 when they actually were, are suddenly finding that 2 tests against a team shot of confidence and leadership is enough of a sample size to declare them the best in the world.. Apparently, anything India did against better Aussie sides in the past doesn't mean much...

Coming to this series, RSA are firm favorites for mine, for I just do not think any team in the world are gonna beat them at home, including Australia or England on current form. India have a decent chance but we have to play better than we have ever done over there, and that, while not impossible, is a pretty difficult thing to achieve..
