I thought England got another new ball towards the end? Maybe I'm mistaken...And the fact the Aussies had a new ball in their hand and that we had one mauled by a dog had nothing to do with it.

Not unless we were given one we shouldn't have had.You batted for 158.4 overs so Finn's wickets came with a very old ball.I thought England got another new ball towards the end? Maybe I'm mistaken...

Oh right, that's what I must have confused it for. Well, in that case flibbertyjibber, you have a perfectly good point .England changed the ball because it was out of shape. Replaced with a ball of similar condition not a brand new one.
Well a fair bit of that is down to the new cherry.I think it's a bit of both. The conditions definately did get better when the sun started shining, but at the same time the English bowlers became pretty despondent after Haddin and Hussey started gaining momentum. When Strauss and Cook came out to bat at the end, suddenly the Australian bowlers were doing much more with the ball (which just shows a lot of the more innocuous bowling was probably due to despondency and fatigue).
You see us making 370?Will expect us to be chasing down 150 odd with at least two sessions to get it. Have a feeling Johnson might snag a few early in the morning and Siddle to back up for a repeat performance somewhat. Not sure on Hilf yet
It's a batting strip at the moment. If Johnson doesn't fire I could see England potentially reaching that, barring some sort of repeat magic from Siddle. You see us making 370?
We will need to apply ourselves well, that's for sure.
Difficult situation for us,I would take us having a lead of about 100 by close with 4 or 5 wickets in hand. Big ask though.
4-0 England
Yeah I know, I mistakenly thought England were given a new ball near the end of our innings. But it was just a replacement ball, as others pointed out. So way to rub it in .Well a fair bit of that is down to the new cherry.
The best case scenario for us would be if England made a few centuries (in vain), but we still achieve a tight win. If we skittle their batsmen for a small total, I imagine they will bounce back very strongly in the next match. It's a batting strip at the moment. Ahhhh. What am I talking about? England to be bundled out by tea for an Australian 10 wicket win.
