I see. Well, I heard somone say that Lal Kumar bowls at a good pace; I thought he was an Indian bowler and got excited. I should have known : If an Asian fast bowler bowls at a good pace then it has got to be a Pakistani.

Gul can never carry an attack as he strings a decent performance together once in a blue moon. Good supporting bowler but when he tries to bowl line and length consistently he inevitably ends up getting bored and then travels.

Yeah AWTA completely. Argued with someone on here recently who said he'd make the Australian team - pfft. There are at least six Aussies I'd pick ahead of him.

Yeah Sami is so unbelievably bad. Sad cos you wouldn't have thought so when he first appeared bowling 150k+, getting it to swing, bowling toe crushers and taking 5fers. Was looking like Pakistan would have one hell of an attack with Shoaib, Waqar and Wasim around too.

I do not understand how Mohammad Sami can even be considered for a side that is known for its quality fast bowlers. I am sure there are at least ten fast bowlers in Pakistan who are much better than him.

Umer Gul was pretty good in most of his first spells was a bit unlucky not to pick up couple of wickets each time

please stop saying this.

its extremely clear that gul is not a consistent wicket taker, he bowls well every now and again and sometimes is good with reverse swing.

its about time he made way for another bowler until he gets himself right, pakistan can do better than gul.

Well, as Sami has shown, being a bit unlucky but largely rubbish and taking no wickets is the best way to keep your place in the team, so it was probably deliberate from Gul.

I agree Gul has been below par recently but with Aamer and Asif unavailability Pak has no choice but to persist with him, a lot of time has been invested on him and he could be hitting his peak in a year or two.At5mj you are not sure whether a Wahab Riaz or a Talha will come good or not so you cannot afford to loose Gul.

I will not look too much in this series even Steyn averaged 45 on these pitches against the might of Hafeez and Taufeeq.

Gul still got the ball to talk early on...and he is our best bowler atm with Amir and Asif out...i don't see who would replace him..

The pitches were quite flat anyway...
