I actually had to go to Cricinfo to double check this wasn't a 3 test match series when I saw the way South Africa had approached day 4.
Fair enough early on when they could still lose the game. But in a deciding test match to not push for the win is a joke.
I hope Pakistan don't ****ing collapse now and reward a **** effort from SA. Pak deserve to draw this series.
Both of these pretty fair assessments I should say. SA need to pick themselves up for the series against India. They have been quite ordinary against a weak Pakistan side. It's probably a reality check for SA's attack. They'll have to rejig it before the India series if they're to dominate against the best batting lineup in world cricket. Their opening positions are still problematic with Smith very doubtful for the first test in Centurion.
Boucher is stodgy and they may consider replacing him sooner rather than later, especially given how costly his drop was in the first test.
Pakistan has emerged from this series with more honour to date.
If Pak go down to even 5 in this session SA should back themselves to wrap up the innings in the final session. Misbah needs to play a good innings here....a captain's innings.Actually I hope Pak end up 8 or 9 down and stumps is called
Or English tail enders doing it against SAF last year.Haha, love it when that happens to other teams. It was so funny to see the WI tailenders holding out England twice last year.
All the more reason. Now the law of averages will be going against the tail. It's okay everyone, Azhar hasn't made an unconverted 50 yet.
Plus, the tailenders have already lasted a session in this match. No need to panic.
And England twice held out against them. They're not good at finishing off teams.Nah it'd be funnier here because SA failing to declare or up the run rate would directly cost them a series.
Haha through the slips with no one going for it
Great stuff
Boucher should have gone for that. Can't blame the slips. Has had a poor series with the gloves, Bouch.SA has become a bit of a rabble. Their slip cordon is not what it used to be.
Their fielding has been appalling of late. Maybe they fail to see its importance despite it almost costing them a test match in Dubai.
Too many fat ageing guys Boucher, Kallis and Smith?
