Matt Wade may well be the Number 2 keeper in this country. Tough luck for Paine.
Yeah terrible stuff especially as it's not an important match. If Haddin did get injured I'm nit certain Wade would get the call up over Manou or Hartley.

I disagree. Perhaps if Haddin was to miss the one game, then Manou would make the safe option as he is almost a guarantee to do a safe job with the gloves. Wade otherwise is in the selectors sites, he was the one selected for the Australia 'A' games during the off-season. With the bat he is clearly a better batsman than Manou and Hartley, and I think this season he has closed the gap with the gloves. I havn't seen every minute of Wade with the gloves this season, but I have yet to see him make any major errors.

Yeah it's obviously a concept that will dire IMO for the simple reason that we don't have four or five stars retire every couple of years.
The concept of this match is even more dire considering the injury to Paine. That injury could happen in any game, but the fact it happened in this pointless fixture could have a significant impact on the rest of the summer.

As a fan I don't mind the game, but I don't think it is sustainable for many more seasons.

Wait, so how long is Paine out for?
All the reports I am hearing put it in the 5-7 week region.

Mitch Marsh is bowling quite nicely. Once he gets full fitness back he is going to make a really handy bowler. I believe he has far more potential than Henriques as he doesn't bowl gun-barrel straight. In non-swinging conditions at the MCG yesterday he was creating slight swing on every delivery.

He still is an unfinished product, and is lucky that WA is giving him plenty of room to find his feet in the game.

Henriques swung the ball loads in his Shield five wicket haul this season.

And which 5 wicket haul was this?

Henriques has bowled pretty well this season yes. He was unlucky not to have a bowl on the SCG greentop last week, he would have taken wickets.

I still believe Mitch Marsh as a bowler has greater potential that Henriques.

Maybe he took four instead? Bowled awesome one day and swung it heaps. I remember watching it. :p

A good game, Hayden getting into the spirit of things.

We didn't learn much new about our Twenty20 players. Most of the big guns played well, i.e Hodge, Hussey and Warner. Few other players showed much,O'Brien bowled well but I don't think he is the answer to Australia's T20 woes.

Wade makes MY Aus B team but I haven't seen any of the selectors say who the back up would be. Wade playing in A games just illustrates that he's the best young talent.
