Correct, one of the reasons many Indian batsmen average 45-50+ with the bat, yet hardly any of their bowlers (ever) average under 30
This pitch wasn't that bad. NZ bowled out for 350 without offering India too many cheap wickets, and India would've been bowled out for something similar were it not for the combined powers of Harby and Danny. The only disappointing thing was the lack of break up on the 5th day.

Gambhir's average outside of India: 64.10 (only 42.58 in India)

Looks like these pitches more nothing more than average-boosters for the batsmen.
I'm quite impressed by the solidity of the Kiwi batting nonetheless.

Sucks so much that Kane was robbed of the chance to go for consecutive centuries.

No, everyone except Gambhir scores runs everywhere, not just in India. For bowling, might it have something to do with producing **** bowlers?

Was such a great moment when Brendon brought up his 200. I was at a pub quiz, and everyone was keeping an eye on his score. When he brought up his double, the quiz was interrupted by about a minute of sustained applause.

Yet another battling performance from NZ, making it really difficult for India to win a series they entirely expected to win at a canter. The batting in the second innings again showed good intent and discipline, while McCullum will quite rightly take the headlines with a tremendous match saving double ton, Kane Williamson impressed once again. He seemed more positive and fluent than when he made his century in the first Test, he was willing to come down the pitch to the spinners and hit over the top, and his back foot strokeplay was again good.

Gambhir averages only 42 in India for the record. 60+ away from India.
Hmm....

That's very true, but he's only played 5 games outside the subcontinent and was only good for 18-24 months. Was poor pre-2008 and hasn't been great this year.

I agree, but we're talking about Indian pitches. It's Indian pitches that Zinzan was referring to when saying its why Indian batsman average above 50.

Well it's clearly not the case with any of the top 6.

**** Nehra, he hasn't played a 4 day match in 3 years.

Where the **** is Vinay Kumar or Pankaj Singh!?

Yea thats what the wickets have lacked in this series in particular.

why can't India just prepare a raging turner yes Vettori is decent but he no Murali maybe its the Jeets factor.

Expect a raging turner for the final test.
Was thinking the same thing.

If this final test pitch isn't dust by day 1, i'll be incredibly surprised.

In saying that, I don't really rate Harbhajan that highly anyway, and Ojha doesn't seem anything too special so assuming we bat as we have been, we may be ok.

NZ to lose last test by an innings and 110 runs now.
