You're forgetting that the average age of the Bangladeshi side is in the low 20's, so even if some of their players are quite ordinary now, they can definitely improve with more exposure. They had Ashrafool who looked a great prospect when he got that 100 against Australia. Then he turns to trash. Improvement?
Siddique and Kayes are rubbish.
Tamim and Shakib are their only decent players. Which isn't any different to any other associate team atm.
and the wicket-keeper ain't ordinary either.Mahmudullah says Hi.
Ah yes, he was their only decent bat bar Tamim against England and India when everyone else was collapsing around him.Mahmudullah says Hi.
If the trend continues, they will continue to retire at 25You're forgetting that the average age of the Bangladeshi side is in the low 20's, so even if some of their players are quite ordinary now, they can definitely improve with more exposure.
Yes he is, by international standards.and the wicket-keeper ain't ordinary either.
22 year old kid, averaging 27- you wouldn't call that crap.Yes he is, by international standards.
Remember what happened after that LOL -they effectively proved him WRONG!! Got close to 20 indian wickets and lost by not much.
Prasanna doesn't average too much either.22 year old kid, averaging 27- you wouldn't call that crap.
SA- Boucher avgs 30
NZ- Hopkins- too low
WI- Ramdin avgs 22
Pakistan- well akmal lol
I am a better spinner than Hauritz. See it's not saying much tbhAlmost all Bangladesh spinners are better than Hauritz as well.
But we have though...I am the only one here backing up my arguments and the rest of you are just saying they have improved without any reasoning what-so-ever.
The fact that they've recently won a Test series against the Windies, even though it was severely depleted, shows they are not dire; surely if they were that dire they would have lost to them. They also beat NZ 4-0 at home, which is as emphatic as you can get. I'm not sure how you can justify saying that them beating NZ 4-0 'means nothing,' either, since NZ are an international quality side, especially in ODIs.My arguments for that are:
1- BD have shown no progress and are still dire.
....
4- BD winning against NZ 4-0 means nothing, and simply is a knee-jerk reaction from all of you. There were calls for them to have their Test status removed during the series against England and I don't see why that should be changed just because they won an ODI series at home against a weak NZ side. Their players have not suddenly improved just because of 1 series.
No you don't... you just need the team to be better than before, which it clearly is.Still he hasn't achieved much and just because of him you certainly can't call Bangladesh an improved side. For that to happen you need at least half the team to be somewhere near decent.
Someone to start sigging some of these beauties imo.Tbh some other keepers don't need a good average, because all the work is done before they come to the crease, so they slog.
Even Brad Haddin is a light year behinf Andy Flower. Easily the best keeper batsmen in the test history. And Oh, Flower had goodwin, Campbell, Junior Flower and Neil Johnson as well.Tbh some other keepers don't need a good average, because all the work is done before they come to the crease, so they slog.
Now if Rahim was as good as Andy Flower, playing for a side with almost no batting support, you can make a case.
But just because right now a keeper averages 27, which is pretty much the same as most of the top order, well you get the point
^^^But we have though...
Yeah after I made that post...

Look we all know how dire NZ were. But even if we consider NZ were a decent side then, just 1 series win doesn't justify how they have improved, especially after being called to get it's Test status stripped during the series with England.

No one's saying that Bangladesh are world beaters, only that they are clearly improving, and that at home they can cause problems for teams.
Well causing "problems" does not make the competitive. Naturally cricket is a sport with equal opportunity. Bowlers can get wickets with **** balls etc etc
Nobody wants to watch a series between BD and a strong international side, don't you understand this is what is killing cricket?
