Pretty happy with it so far. Expected India to be completely flat, instead, they are almost completely flat.
Dude, we can't string two batting performances together. This is helping me win.

What? I don't think this happened.
Pretty sure it did. One over in a List A game where he kept scoring boundaries. Listened to it on the radio and laughed.

Haha, TumTum mate, I have a lot of time for your posts but judging dudes off extremely small sample sizes is itstl. Do your predictions come true?:p

Those of you doubting TumTum may want to take a look at Malcolm Gladwell's Blink.

I know a lot of people dismiss Gladwell as a cherry-picking pop-scientist but he talks a lot about studies that show exactly how revealing a small visual sample size is - students were able to judge a teacher's ability quite accurately after watching a 2 second video of them teaching.

I've never considered applying this to cricket, but I do think it would be an interesting exercise to say, have 2-ball clips of a variety of batsman and seeing how accurate the snap judgments of the batsmen are.

What's itstl? Well kinda. I did say after Ian Chappell called Duminy the future best bat that it was completely stupid that he was basing it of just one T20 match. I also predicted that the T20WC in the West Indies will support pacers more, while basically everybody shot it down, even the admins where having a bit of a laugh screwing with my thread. Anyways happy those suckers ate some humble pie.

@backwards-vettori, I really don't care what you say troll.

I'd quite happily see India losing at home, they're getting too big for their boots. Their spin attack is relatively toothless, it's the seamers and pressure that set the game up.

They won't though. One game NZ's top order will collapse and that'll be it. That is unless of course Hopkins secretly turns out to be a gun Test batsman after a prank one in limited overs games.

NZ in this game are still only a minor collapse away from having to struggle on day 5. A bad collapse puts them under big pressure.
Yeah no doubt our batting isn't strong enough to be respectable every match but this is probably the nicest post about New Zealand you've ever thrown out there.

Massive jinx here, but if Kane does manage to reach his hundred tomorrow, would he be the youngest NZer to ever get there in tests? I can't think of anyone else. I know Martin Crowe didn't score his first test hundred for years after his debut, and the same goes for our other cricket prodigies like Cairns and Vettori. Can anyone think of anyone else who might be close?

I know we've picked very young players in the past, but they generally flopped. How old was lucky Lou on his test debut?

Yeah cricinfo said he'd be the youngest centurion for Tests and ODIs for NZ.

Cricinfo were wrong, HG Vivian was younger. He was 19 and 121 days and scored it in 1932.

Kane the 2nd youngest by a fair bit though at 20 years 90 days.

Will be set to become 4th youngest player to ever have both an ODI and Test 100 though and first non Pakistani player.

1. Imran Nazir to have both at 18 years 154 days
2. Shahid Afridi 18 years 333 days
3. Umar Akmal 19 years 182 days
4. Tamim Iqbal 20 years 111 days
