*Official* New Zealand in India 2010

Hardly cheering. Happy that they aren't already on the verge of losing.

Seriously, our non-Zaheer bowling is absolutely rank.
Why would we lose? We almost scored 500 batting first. You're not an idiot, it's hard to lose in India batting first and scoring 500 when you're playing the best teams. New Zealand aren't the best team.

TBF, it happened in the previous game.

But then, you'd probably play the "best team" card, and you'd be right. :D

Forgot Australia made 478. Thought they made 420 or so.

But yes, against the best team and all, of course they'd lose

It is not that they are completely crap-blokes like Sree have an attitude problem more than anything. He seems to think he is Malcom Marshall

Sharma plays too many useless t20s and ODIs-kid has talent.

It is high time for one of Praveen/Irfan to get a look in.Dhoni keeps saying he needs a bowling all rounder at 7...well,those two are your best bets atm.

TBH, I don't think Zaheer is all he's cracked up to be either.. rarely looks like dismissing righties - though he should have had Williamson today.

Irfan does not, I repeat, does NOT deserve a look-in. He's had plenty of chances.

Other than Praveen, Vinay Kumar, Mithun (depending on how he goes this FC season) and Umesh Yadav all deservedly ahead of Irfan IMO.

Unadkat needs more FC cricket, still too young.

PRaveen is hopeless with the bat. I can live with him as the 2nd or 3rd seamer but please God.. not as an allrounder..

Umesh Yadav is in the same boat as Unadkat really.

I feel like a rant....

The reason the balance of the NZ team is so poor is because there is no genuine seam bowling all rounder and McCullum is a selfish prick. We don't even have a seam bowling all rounder in the squad, ffs.
I think it's disgrace that NZs best seam bowling all rounder, James Franklin, can't even make the test squad. In one player you have a better bowler than Martin and a better batsman than Guptill, yet those two players made the squad. The selectors are ****ing nuts.

If McCullum was still keeping we could have a team like this:

McCullum
McIntosh
How
Taylor
Ryder
Williamson
Vettori
Franklin
Tuffey
Bennett
Arnel

Four seam bowlers, two spin bowlers (Williamson is good enough to be counted as a genuine spin option, imo), a part time seamer in Ryder, and the team bats all the way down to eight (with Tuffey handy with the bat at nine).

Even if McCullum did keep again there's no way he can manage opening as well with his back. It's one or the other.

Putting aside batting ability, who do you think the best FC keeper is in NZ cricket? (I don't rate Hopkins keeping as good enough for test cricket)

One of my predictions have come true. Ryder's got the 100 Williamson will get his too. Really sucked that he got out just after the 100, happens to players so often, they get distracted and celebrate and lose concentration. NZ should have a rule where you can only celebrate after you score 200. NZ need to invest and think long term and they need to start playing Bennett and Southee together and focus on developing them. They are the future after all no other fast bowler in the pipeline. Also get a bowling coach for F's sake. Hell Bangladesh have a batting, bowling and fielding coach!

GTF Harbhajan. I never hear anyone question his place in the team yet he's been average for ages. I know he's handy with the bat but he's a poor spinner now. How's Chawla getting along?
I question him all the time. He's not India's #1 spinner anymore. He's probably lucky he got some runs. Ojha just looks more dangerous getting a few balls to fly past the bat.
