I was never too fond of seeing Ganguly play. There were many good batsmen in the Indian team. And Abdul Qadir over Murali???? I am not too sure either. After second thought, it's probably the team u would like to see play.
Not really..........I think Dravid, Laxman, (even Azharuddin) seem to be better batsmen at their peak than Ganguly.Absolutely i would take pick Ganguly. When he was in good form he was as good as any other Indian batsman...
Qadir over Murali because he is a leggie....had it been a world XI. i would pick Warne in that place...and personally i have some Pak biase involved too....lol
If you want to chuck somebody in how about Shoaib Chuckter .....does anybody think he is good enough to have a shot at an all time Asian XI????My top 10 would be:
1 Imran Khan
2 Sachin Tendulkar
3 Muttiah Muralitharan
4 Sunil Gavaskar
5 Wasim Akram
6 Waqar Younis
7 Kapil Dev
8 Rahul Dravid
9 Javed Miandad
10 Kumar Sangakarra
Chuck in Sehwag and you've got yourself a pretty awesome XI
Yup, that would be my XI as well, save for one change: Sub in Hanif for Sehwag. Just for sentimental reasons.here is an Asian XI that will be difficult to beat...
Sunil Gavaskar
Virender Sehwag
Rahul Dravid
Sachin Tendulkar
Javed Miandad
Kumar Sangakara (WK)
Imran Khan (C)
Kapil Dev
Wasim Akram
Muralitharan
Waqar Younis
Anwar or Ganguly.Yeah surely there have been better ODI batsmen than Sanga. Pretty medicore ODI player.

Aravinda or Miandad over Sehwag. Tempted to pick Vaas over Kapil as well, because Kapil is batting at No 8.ODI XI
Tendulkar
Jayasuriya
Sehwag
Zaheer Abbas
Inzamam
Dhoni (wk)
Imran (c)
Kapil
Akram
Waqar
Murali
right.Aravinda or Miandad over Sehwag
you should resist it. kapil is a better choice than vaas anyday; most certainly in onedayers.Tempted to pick Vaas over Kapil as well, because Kapil is batting at No 8.
As an all rounder Yes. But as a ODI seamer no.you should resist it. kapil is a better choice than vaas anyday; most certainly in onedayers.
No.8 or not, kapil is the better option to have in the team because it is not like kapil was a dud with the ball and that chaminda was 'vaas'tly superior to him. both were pretty much even with the ball. but if the team is 6 down for not much, you want imran and kapil at the crease. i bet the opposition bowlers will not be too happy at that sight. As an all rounder Yes. But as a ODI seamer no.
Not too sure about Imran in the ODI side. He is probably the greatest Asian TEST cricketer. Not sure about his ODI skills as much. Maybe he enters the team as a lower order bat or captain. His ODI bowling record is quite ordinary IIRC.No.8 or not, kapil is the better option to have in the team because it is not like kapil was a dud with the ball and that chaminda was 'vaas'tly superior to him. both were pretty much even with the ball. but if the team is 6 down for not much, you want imran and kapil at the crease. i bet the opposition bowlers will not be too happy at that sight.
