I like you.No. Give me the guy that can score runs when it matters and regularly gets at least 40 odd without failing 5 times inbetween
See how far we've slipped.Though I suspect the fake Hilditch quote logic will shine through, I remember reading an article were he was suggesting the training and practice wasn't too much important for our batsman as the being in a good place mentally, so I'm sure instead they'll just give Hussey a big ol rest after the one dayers.
well i'm just presuming they won't have the balls to drop both of them so i'm choosing sides.No. Give me the guy that can score runs when it matters and regularly gets at least 40 odd without failing 5 times inbetween
It's for the boxing day test tbf. Going down to Melbourne to watch itFixed.
He has to have one of the worst records in the past decade for an Australian batsmen with this many tests under his belt.Retaining anyone who averages in the 30s after a big sample of Test (he's played over 20 games now) would be a sad indictment on how far our standards have slipped. The 30s.
That's the beauty with death riding North - you can actually use his centuries against him that they're a precursor to a string of failures. He embodies everything I hate about our current selection panel.
Looking at his stats makes me feel like we're in a time machine going back to the 1980s when many, many guys played 20+ Tests with averages in the 30s.He has to have one of the worst records in the past decade for an Australian batsmen with this many tests under his belt.
People should be as mad as hell with this panel.
I bet his entitled ****bag children have amazing self esteem.Though I suspect the fake Hilditch quote logic will shine through, I remember reading an article were he was suggesting the training and practice wasn't too much important for our batsman as the being in a good place mentally, so I'm sure instead they'll just give Hussey a big ol rest after the one dayers.
How does this ****** get a jobThough I suspect the fake Hilditch quote logic will shine through, I remember reading an article were he was suggesting the training and practice wasn't too much important for our batsman as the being in a good place mentally, so I'm sure instead they'll just give Hussey a big ol rest after the one dayers.
I agree that the selectors have ****ed up big time, in that they chose North in the first place and let him stay on way too long. But at the same time, seeing as though the next test series is actually the Ashes, making too many changes would be suicide. The way I see it is, while there are undoubtedly better players than North out there for the no. 6 role, he is still one of the better candidates for that position. There are suprisingly few domestic batsman who average as good as North in FC cricket. And if you take out openers (Jaques, Rogers, Hughes etc.) the options are even less. Look at some of the top candidates for the role: you have Ferguson, Klinger etc. who don't even average 40, let alone 43 + like North. Considering the ridiculous lead up to the Ashes, I think the best bet would be to retain North for now (especially seeing as though he is scoring runs) and replace Hussey with Khawaja. If Khawaja is successful, the erratic nature of North's run scoring should be less of a problem (because there would be less chance of a massive collapse). Post Ashes I say Smith should eventually replace North.Retaining anyone who averages in the 30s after a big sample of Test (he's played over 20 games now) would be a sad indictment on how far our standards have slipped. The 30s.

Over 14.6: George to North, no run, inswinger, forward and looks to be dead in front - a massive shout by the Redbacks - not out the call - looked plumb from here.Apparently North was plumb LBW to a George inswinger when he was on nought..
SA can atleast walk away with first innings points in their game against WA. The bowling has been decent without being too threatening, there has been a fair few chances gone begging as well. Apparently North was plumb LBW to a George inswinger when he was on nought.. Marsh and Ferguson doing all they can do be in contention for an ashes spot, let's hope they both have that 800+ run season. I guess it's good to see North scoring runs though.

We're talking about tests here? The other point about Hussey is he's miles away from being the commanding player he used to be before his slump began late 2008. Ever since then his only method is to grind grind grind, now that in itself isnt wrong, its just he's kind of bad at it! 20 off 100 balls is his usual innings, its like he's lost all his scoring shots. He aint young, the middle order is being bogged down with Clarke too being a very slow scorer. And i'm not sure Huss has scored runs when it matters for quite some time, a lot longer than it should be for a senior player.
