Cameron is very good when fit, such an awesome display. If conditions are like this at the Gabba for the 1st Test then we are in for a fantastic Test series.

George also with a couple of wickets. He will remain around the Australian setup if he bowls well on the roads in Adelaide.

haha, yeh, he only faced losers like McGrath, Alderman and Merv.

Hussey out to George pushing to short leg. Ewwwww......

This is the first time I have seen Coyte bowl. Does he always bowl off this run-up? He takes about 5 strides to the wicket. Very odd for a medium pacer.

are you trying to say McGrath, Alderman and Merv are better than Cameron? because....

Same, but I reckon if he worked on his batting more, and actually tried to adopt the mentality of an allrounder, he could push his average up to 30.
I disagree, the last year while his batting numbers have been so poor he's looked like he's been trying to take his batting more seriously, playing conservatively early on and looking to get himself in before taking any risks. He just doesn't have the technique/judgment to play like that, he ends up hanging around for a little while and just getting out.

When he had some success with the bat earlier in his career he was basically throwing caution to the wind and just looking to attack at every opportunity. Backing away and slapping Dale Steyn back over his head, etc. I reckon that should be his game plan every time. He's very strong and has a great eye, he doesn't have a great defensive technique or great judgment outside his off stump, so he should play to his strengths and just try slap them around.

I completely agree. I think Johnson should take inspiration from someone like Afridi who has averaged well over 30 in test cricket just by slogging it. Just because someone tries to be an allrounder, doesn't mean they have to play conservatively. Clearly a super-attacking mindset would work the best for Johnson.

Btw has anyone actually seen Cameron play? 6 for 22, wow thats very impressive. Also looks like Hussey is in a rush to not play in the Ashes...(which is only a good thing imo).

Yeah I'm a huge fan - as I said on the previous page he's a Test standard bowler when he's fit. Unfortunately he's not fit very often. He bowls outswingers at 145 clicks, has a good bouncer and a good yorker too.

Cameron got 5 in his first Pura Cup/Shield game didn't he? Comes across as a bloke who would feel quicker than 140 even.

Yeah, as has been said he's a gun. Has never stayed fit for long enough to be seriously considered for higher honors though. I think he got a call up to an A team tour in about 2008 after having a good summer, but he broke down again shortly after.

He changed half way through his spell in the last RC game. Had some success so probably decided to try it out here.

Not sure if he's done it regular before that, though.

Damn, that sucks about the injuries. Looks like he is already firing again in the follow on.

Come on SA, don't let Norf get a score.

I'll say.

Hussey doing his best to thwart my bet by getting himself dropped instead of North

Just as a hypothetical (and quite a plausible one, really), what do you think will happen if Katich can't play, and Hussey, North AND Hughes fail miserable all the way up until the Ashes?

That would be a tricky situation...

If that happened I still reckon Hughes, Hussey and North would all line up in the first Test.
