Butterworth has 4 now, Vics in a deep hole. Would be an awesome partnership if Wade and Quiney got them home.

Fair knock by Quiney but Butterworth got the job done. Tassie asserted themselves after breaking that partnership, and the dismissal of Wright was crucial.

I remember myself and Gelman calling for him to be brought into the ODI setup a year or two back. A bit of a fall from grace since then but he's got loads of ability. I'll never forget that amazing ton he hit against a full strength NSW team to win them that FRC game from nowhere.

Was 90 off 60 rocks, I think.

He's a guy who gets into runs of form, we snicked him off for 4 (edge past slips) on the weekend which is pretty lucky! But goes through periods where his feet are a bit all over the place, tends to go back early.

Injury blow for Rogers - Cricket - Sportal Australia

Be interesting to see what the Vics do now then. They won't pick Jewell after he and Aaron Finch - ALLEGEDLY - had a confrontation in Perth, where Jewell ended up slapping Finch in the hotel room after the game. Jewell has now retired for good, and supposedly won't be called upon again; that was the word after the incident. Will they stick to it?

They could shift Quiney up to open, he's been the "Mr. Fix-It" for Victoria for a fair while, shuffling him in wherever they see fit. Think that they are grooming Finch to bat at 3, so they won't move him. The options outside of that are:

* Brett Forsyth, on a rookie contract who has done OK in Futures League.
* Tom Stray with heaps of runs in both Futures League (opening) and Grade Cricket (batting at 3).
* Recall Lloyd Mash.
* Pull Peter Dickson or Andrew Kent, who had performed well for Victoria in the 2nd XI competition, but have not seen a game in the Futures League because of the age restrictions.

Be interesting to see which way they go.

Actually, the one that I left out, and probably the most obvious one and the option that the selectors will go with, is using Ryan Carters as a specialist opening bat, and ask him to field as well.

Siddle has done enough to come right back into the 1st test squad & XI once some frak injury doesn't hit him again.

Hey Vic what do you think the odds are they'll try Will Sheridan in the opening spot again and he'll do absoloutly nothing?
Robelina - the Finch/Jewell dispute was in the herald sun apparantly Jewell either got physical or just verbal with Finch for not respecting the older players. Thats what they reported anyway.

SA won the toss against WA and they elected to bat. There is a rain delay though so it looks like no play for a while :@.

James Smith, Daniel Harris, Michael Klinger (c), Callum Ferguson, Aiden Blizzard, Graham Manou (wk), Daniel Christian, Aaron O'Brien, Chris Duval, Robert Cassell, Peter George, Ben Edmondson (12th)

They picked Duval over Edmondson as well, Dire selection IMO.
