You know all is not well with the RSA attack if Albie is the stand out bowler. Langeveldt is a tricky one as whenever he looks just about ready for the knacker’s yard he performs but the attack yesterday was too samey even with a left arm quick. With Miller taking over the mantle from Albie of being the Proteas PP batsman and finisher, could be worth getting Tahir in (when qualified) as the second spinner with a view to the WC.
I'm with you regarding Tahir in India although doing so leaves a really long tail if we include the regulars like Dale, Parny and Morne.

Tahir was supposed to get qualified ahead of the 3rd Aussie game, isnt it?

Also he has a habit of taking 6-7 wickets on a regular basis - can be really handy in LOI as well.

If SAF can have the bowling attack of Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel, Wayne Parnell, Johan Botha, Jacques Kallis and Albie Morkel then I guess they will be fine.

Parnell can bat well and he did show it against India in an ODI this year where he and Steyn almost took the game away from us. ( Kallis scored 89 in that game )

Tahir is very close friends with Salman Butt and during the English tour he had a detailed discussion with Waqar and Salman where they discussed the possibility of having him back in Pakistan setup not sure how things stand now with Salman being banned also SA might feel hesitant in picking him if they know about his relations with a fixer like Butt I am sure Cronje gate is still fresh in their minds.

December this year is when he will be available, I think. Mickey Arthur was pretty happy to get Tahir involved, not sure what Smith or current coach van Zyl's feelings over Tahir are.

Zim won the toss and elected to bat.

Can't believe the teams according to Cricinfo...

GC Smith*, CA Ingram, HM Amla, AB de Villiers†, JP Duminy, DA Miller, RJ Peterson, CK Langeveldt, WD Parnell, J Theron, LL Tsotsobe

BRM Taylor, CJ Chibhabha, SC Williams, GW Flower, T Taibu†, CR Ervine, E Chigumbura*, KM Dabengwa, P Utseya, AG Cremer, SW Masakadza

Teams are true apparently and for some reason Hamilton Masakadza has been dropped, which is very bizarre. Botha and Albie Morkel not fit for South Africa.

Mini collapse for Zim from 60/0 to 60/3, but Taibu and Flower jr getting things back on track. One hundred up.

Liking the look of Theron. Not express, but accurate and nibbles the ball both ways.

Yea I thought Theron looked a class bowler when he was in IPL where he did very well. Has a bit of a Pollock vibe about him. Would have him much higher up than the pecking order than SA seem to.
