Yeh no chance sig changes (if any) are going to be made with the Ashes so close. The Aus selectors really ****ed up and left things way too late to make adjustments. Conservatism is perfect if you happen to have a team full of consistent players, but when half the team is incapable of performing when needed, it is a death wish.
North should definitely keep his place. I would've dropped him several Tests ago but the selectors obviously aren't going to pick the guy, watch him score a ton and then drop him.

Yeah, I don't want him in the team anymore either, but he's continued his pattern of producing something really good just when the pressure is getting impossible on his place. It's tempting, but slightly unfair to just ignore the good things he does because of his inconsistency. For me, I'm not really convinced by any of the alternatives, or that they would do any better, whereas Marcus has at least shown he CAN produce, but just needs to work out how to get himself set more regularly.
