Have you seen our bowling lineup? Don't talk to me about Sachin & Sehwag and co being great players and then poop your pants when they have to chase something like 200. They'll do it and they'll do it without too much pain. Why?
Have you seen our batting line-up? It really is massively inexperienced.
So you're saying that if you get a start in the first innings and don't carry on, you're less likely to score any runs at all in the second innings? When you look at India's first innings, that, to me, is a very good looking scorecard. I think it is optimal to have a few batsmen (in this case Tendulkar and Vijay) making big scores to account for the total. That way, it is probably more likely the batsmen who didn't score in the first innings will be able to in the second.
If you look at Australia's first innings scorecard, in contrast, most of the higher order got decent runs (i.e. a collaborative effort to get the total)...and what do you get - a collapse in the second innings.
So that being said, I won't be suprised at all if India cruise home tmrw.
You're pretending as if pitches don't deteriorate a lot in matches. It happens, it's not magic. TBF, I think in both matches the 2nd innings by both teams could have been higher and the pitches didn't deteriorate near what the scores may suggest; but nonetheless neither team have had wildly different experiences at bat. It's been comparable, and not much of an advantage as is it is being portrayed. There is no proof that Australia would have scored as much playing mostly on the third day, as opposed to playing till tea on the second day on both tests. Especially when you see that on the 4th day in both test Australia have crumbled. The evidence is right there. Unless you are saying somehow the pitch magically transformed from being a great wicket to bat on to a practical land mine between day 3 and day 4. You are just taking the scores of the first innings and saying the conditions were identical.
There is absolutely no need to respond like an arrogant smug twit. I will engage in a debate if you can make an argument, if you are just going to repeat the 'conditions were identical' like a broken record, i'll let you be.
Yeah that pitch was a bit similar to this one; turning but, the odd ball aside, fairly even bounce with reverse swing doing the damage.Yeh but the record chase was accomplished with 8 wickets to spare. This pitch has plenty of runs in it.
Hopefully against North.Backing a lot of Indian inexperience to come to the fore.
Yeh the records haven't convinced me either. I think 250 at least is needed.Yeh but the record chase was accomplished with 8 wickets to spare. This pitch has plenty of runs in it.
Not appropriate at all. Cut the crap, guys. Like others have said this thread has, by and large, been a very good read and people have stayed civil. Don't bring it down now.
Did not take offence to what the champ said one bit, nothing to apologize for. Would be different if the **** wasn't a Dougeh fan though.Lol.
And I ought to apologise to Shri too for allowing my having the ****s at things outside this thread lead to abusing him. Was unwarranted and doesn't reflect his posting here.
haha, you're kidding.Backing a lot of Indian inexperience to come to the fore.
Yeah that's just a flaw in the team for the conditions though. Not having good players is not a mitigating circumstance.Especially since Aus don't have spinners to take advantage of the conditions or players who have much experience playing in India at all.
I will poop my pants whenever I feel like it ****Have you seen our bowling lineup? Don't talk to me about Sachin & Sehwag and co being great players and then poop your pants when they have to chase something like 200. They'll do it and they'll do it without too much pain.
Reckon there's a bit in it tbh and if oz bats for an hour tomorrow and scores say 30 runs, I'd make them slight favouritesYeh but the record chase was accomplished with 8 wickets to spare. This pitch has plenty of runs in it.
Oh, so you can get India 9 wickets down when they have Laxman and Gambhir (who despite being out of form, is a gun in India) but a debutant and still unproven Vijay are going to ensure India win with 7 wickets to spare?haha, you're kidding.
I think if Australia draw or lose they drop to fifth, not that I think he's worried about the ranking as much as the match, so he may as well chase the game hard IMHO. Don't know that a declaration will be necessary at all tbh, we'll get rolled. Should be a good chase though.Yeah look, I reckon some miscommunication and missing the points going around, but let's get back to the match.
I honestly believe (not an anti-jinx) that Australia are 40 runs away from being in a really good position.
I wonder if Ponting has a declaration score in mind?
And North.Reckon there's a bit in it tbh and if oz bats for an hour tomorrow and scores say 30 runs, I'd make them slight favourites
BTW, forget about Hauritz, it'll be the pacemen that are more likely to do the damage
Agree with all of this.Reckon there's a bit in it tbh and if oz bats for an hour tomorrow and scores say 30 runs, I'd make them slight favourites
BTW, forget about Hauritz, it'll be the pacemen that are more likely to do the damage
You and your jinxes.... 250 is the minimum IMO. It depends how fast we score the remainder of our runs too but you've got enough firepower with the bat, and we have Hauritz and George.Ikki mate, if Australia make India have to chase 230-odd you fellas will win, or it'll be a tight draw.
