Lord’s innings aside, Dhoni really has done little of note for India in test cricket. Averages 40 odd but he is a bit like Ian Bell, useless against Aus and most of his centuries for India have been off the back of others or on flat feather-beds home or in Sri Lanka.

Good to see India collapse though from a neutral perspective. The game was going nowhere quick with Sachin and Dhoni together.

no wonder people select hadlee, marshall and warne in all time XIs to bolster the lower order depite having a killer middle order from bradman to gilly. you dont want king, queen and jack to fold like this. it is so so useful to have an akram or even a brett lee to hang on for 7-8 overs to frustrate the opposition even after 7 or 8 wickets fall.

draw is not an option any more for either of the teams. five sessions are more than enough to take 20 wickets on this wicket.

This is really starting to look like the case. Dhoni needs to prove himself all over again as a batsman in Test cricket. Not to mention his keeping has dropped away in this series as well.

The new ball bowling is going to be amazingly important. If Australia get away to a flyer they're really in it. But India will do some damage with the older ball with spin and reverse IMO.

Wtf? Betfair has an Oz win at 9.4, with an Indian win at 4.5?

I would have thought the game is very evenly poised now, maybe even an Oz advantage seeing as though they don't have to chase.

I think Hadlee, Marshall and Warne are more picked in all time XIs for their ability with the ball, not the bat.

(Out of context interpretations ftw).

I think his point is that Ambrose, McGrath and Murali might provide maybe 2-3% more purely as bowlers but the additional abilities of the aforementioned three more than makes up for it.

Indian fans should shut up you score 500 and you still bag your team try supporting a side that gets folded for 70 odd once every 3 innings:p

i meant they are preferred by most people over lillee, murali and mcgrath who were equally great bowlers but were not as good with the bat. thought i wouldnt have to explain myself.

Hadlee and Marshall > Ambrose and Mcgrath as bowlers anyway, though I won't touch the Warne/Murali thing.

I already have a bet against the draw, i.e. India or Aust win.

Think I will get on Australia though.
