*Official* Australia in India 2010

Sachin Tendulkar, 14,000 runs! What a champ! Great sportsmanship by the Australian players as well, which shows the amount of respect they have for Sachin. Great to see.

Vijay and Tendulkar both looking really good. Vijay's giving Gambhir a run for his money. I reckon once Dravid retires we can have a pretty solid top three of Gambhir, Sehwag and Vijay. Australia's in front at the moment but hopefully we can kick on and continue our good batting.

Junior gets on my nerves, but I may be in the minority on CW, seems to have fans.
Agree with you there mate. I don't like Junior either. He comes across as a snob and is overly critical about India in just about everything. I hate it when he continues to downplay Indian batsmen scoring well and just blaming it on a flat track but all of a sudden when an Australian batsman does well, it's an innings that's defied all odds on a raging turner. I would prefer Less Mark Waugh and more Allan Border and Greg Blewett on the panel.

Is it just me who doesn't like to see these personal milestones celebrated too much when we have a serious match going on and India a bit under the gun? Do it after the day's play all you like, IMO.

Why can someone raise their bat for a 50 (which is a common event) yet not 14,000 in total?

Considering nobody in history has ever made 14,000 test runs and not too many people are likely to make that many runs I think Sachin deserved his moment to celebrate. It's moments like these that make cricket memorable and great.

Meh, just an extra distraction IMO. :p I don't want anything to come between Tendulkar and his batting. Selfish, I know.

**** me he does that often, it's the thing that ****s me the most.
It's amazing how his dislike of India and the cricket team comes through in his presentation. What's even more amazing is that how much his brother Steve loves India and does so much work for the children over there. Always preferred Steve as a cricketer and as a person.

What to do about Dravid BTW?

His form is becoming seriously worrying.
I'm guessing he'll choose to retire after the SA series. Think he's waiting for a good knock to sign off in style, just like Ganguly did.

Think the milestone was being flashed on the large screen. So Sachin had to raise the bat just to acknowledge.

Yeah, you raise your bat to acknowledge applause. The milestone appeared on the screen and the crowd applauded, so it was the proper thing to do IMO.

ha ha ha. i hate that guy too.... one of the most annoying voices i have heard in my life. if you tie me up and force this mother****er's commentary on me for 10 minutes, i will spill state secrets. ****ing **** likes to underline again and again "thirttttttty one thousand runs..." "fortttyyyyyyy eight hundreds". next time he says "look at those numbers" i am going to fly to bangalore, take a cab to the stadium, bribe someone to take me to the press floor, enter the commentary box, grab this guy, slap him hard and drag him away from the mike.

heard from reliable sources that he watches south indian comedian vadivelu's videos all the time. even while flying, in his ipad. shows his class, really.
while you are there give the same treatment to Hogg and Lal. Sunny just about survive because he is a legend.

If Pujara steps up and shows a lot of class in the international game now, it could soon mean curtains for Dravid.

I don't really see how Pujara is the threat to Dravid. Gambhir is still first choice opener, but we've seen Vijay play at 3 for India.

Vijay is the threat to Dravid's spot.

Pujara is a to order bat in FC cricket and is a similar player to Dravid in terms of timing, concentration and playing long innings. Natural replacement. Whereas Vijay would be playing out of position at 3 since he is a specialist opener,

If he doesn't do well in India against NZ later on this year, not sure he'll be cracking tons in South Africa as well.. Might be an undeserving farewell to Dravid :(
