Debut and all so I'll hold off before I wade into the boy, but not massively impressed with George's first over. Looks to fall away quite badly in his delivery stride so not making best use of his height and looks as if he might spray it a bit with his slightly slingy action.

Sehwag. Shocker. Well bowled Hilfy tho; worked the plan beautifully.

Because wickets per match is an excellent indicator of reliability.

Johnson's a very good bowler but the last thing I'd ever call him would be reliable, particularly with the new ball. George should've opened IMO.
I wouldn't. Johnson's more likely to challenge an in-form Sehwag and snag him early than George. Nearly had him at 3rd man, for example.

Ordinary play from Sehwag there. Was dominant and chucked it on a shot he's not strong in. Got a bit of a head up after that last over I reckon.

Yeah that and George isn't one of those early wickets types, has tended to warm into a good line for SA rather than challenging the openers immediately. Massive hole in his game, tbh, his early stuff is usually pretty innocuous.

EDIT: His cupcakes are delicious, though. As he's shown today, his pies are pretty tasty too.

Well I think I know where Virender can expect a few come next tour down under.
Haha really?

Rank half volleys?

They bowled better balls than that to him throughout his dig. He saw a **** ball and happened to hit it to the one fielder there. That surely won't be their tactic in Australia.

One over for George? ****'s sake, that's ordinary captaincy. Talk about giving the boy a fair go.
I wouldn't have done it either, but I can see what his reasoning is. New batsman, use the spearhead bowler. Pretty simple really. Doesn't make Ponting an idiot.

Top_Cat might be right too. Have to wait and see.
