*Official* Australia in India 2010

Ponting is averaging 50.66 in this series and has now scored 418 runs @ 41.80 on his last 2 tours of India with 1 hundred and 3 fifties....

...with one innings to go, what does he need to get the "can't play in India" monkey off his back....I think 132 (or 82*) in the 2nd innings will do it as then he averages 50 in his last 6 Tests in India....

Well we all said, with Harbhajan's mediocre form, that if there was any series to do it this was it. He's done well but whilst his numbers are numerically good, he hasn't taken a match by the scruff of the neck and not let go as per 02-03 or 06-07.

Lovely shot from Paine. Do really reckon he sometimes gives Clarke a run for his money as the most aesthetic player in the current lineup.

Tbh I've never really got the whole thing about how Ponting 'can't play spin'. He seems to play spin fine to me. I think it has been massively overhyped by the Harbhajan rivalry, which probably just got into Ponting's head a bit.

He goes very hard at the ball though, which plays right into Harbhajan's hands as Harbhajan's favoured form of dismissal is getting a batsmen caught at short leg/silly point/LBW going hard a ball which is shorter than he had planned on.

Batsman on 5 and deep mid-off? We'll take that, thanks.

ricky.... ricky..... ricky..... how many times are you going to disappoint your fans? why cant you learn to play on indian pitches properly? yeah... yeah... 77 is good... but do you want to be good or do you want to be great? you will never ever take your average in india above 30. is that ok with you? sigh....
I can't quite figure out if you're being sincere or patronising :p

Advantage Australia I reckon, partnerships all the way through.

Good innings by Ponting, did a Sachin and got out to an innocuous part-timer.

Harbhajan is really bowling badly despite the two wickets, gave so many four balls to Ponting.

Awesome work Raina!

Punter fails to convert the 50 to 100 again :D
Still a decent innings though buddy.

Decent first session though for Australia. I didn't get to see much of the days play today but 5/285 is alright. Watson is carving it up over in India but he has a habit of reaching 50 and then being dismissed. Ponting looked class but he still managed to throw his wicket away 8-).

Excited for Peter George, being one of my favourite players and having a lot of talent with the ball. I'm a bit worried about him debuting in Indian conditions against this unforgiving India batting line-up. George could use another season on first class cricket to improve that little bit more but I'm confident he will do well.
