yeh but frankly all the bowlers except Johnson and Dougy took a pretty bad beating.

It's basically a forgone conclusion with Smith though; Hilfenhaus and Hauritz won't take a beating every time. Frankly the mere suggestion that Smith might even be in the same planet as Hilfenhaus or Bollinger as bowlers annoys me greatly.

I actually think Hilfenhaus bowled very well even if he didn't take any wickets. Dangerous bowler, his place in the side shouldn't be under threat IMO.

Yeh he was probably a tad unlucky not to get a few wickets, but at the same time if someone as mediocre as North was causing some trouble, I'm sure Smith could too. Plus you get his batting as an extra (not that Hilfenhaus isn't bat himself with the bat, though).
