Don't worry. They'll be still be hurling the ball into the pitch to get reverse swing after about 20 overs. Ajmal will still be chucking his doosra every over. The rest on the field will still be saying things that need the umpire to intervene. A proven steroid cheat will still be allowed to play with barely a slap on the wrist. And the PCB will still be trying to find ways to avoid the three spot-fixers getting banned. It says something when Afridi is one of the more likeable players in the Pakistan side, he's only danced on the pitch and chewed on a ball.

How do you not get up for beating a bunch like this is absolutely beyond me.
Scaly, please try to keep things in perspective here and avoid posts like this that are only going to provoke other members.

Maybe just talk about the match at hand in the tour thread and use the threads that exist to discuss the broader issues? Or if you can't watch and post without resorting to posts of this sort, simply don't post.

What would be the relevant thread for discussing Pakistan constantly hurling the ball into the pitch to artificially age it, if it isn't this one?

Faisal, I understand that emotions might be running high atm, but given that two moderators have already warned Scaly for his post, there's not really any need to reply, especially not in an equally provocative way.

Maybe go make one, but bringing it up with a bunch of other irrelevancies when your team is not going well in a match just derails the thread, annoys people and comes across as kinda whingy if truth be told.

Unless I'm much mistaken, what you're describing there isn't even against the rules or uncommon practice around the world. But as I said, that's a discussion for another thread.

Your original post clearly wasn't trying to 'discuss' that, though. If you genuinely want to discuss it, and do so civilly, then by all means start a thread about it.

As it is, it's hardly something that's isolated to Pakistan, and I have seen umpires warn teams about it before so if it were that bad they would probably intervene.

Edit: Bleh. What Matt said.

With intentions to discuss it.....is it illegal to hurl the ball on the pitch to age it? or throw the ball along the ground instead of in the air?

I think it depends how you do it and how often,if you are doing it every time with a throw from cover then it is a bit obvious isn't it.

All sides do it so you won't see me complaining about this one but the umpires did have a word on Monday about it so maybe there is somethig in the laws.

Oh well we will see if it is a win the toss win the game soon but thank god Strauss won it.
Should be if you bat competently. And don't waste a place by picking a specialist batsman who's patently unwell. And stick with a donkey like Bresnan who's repeatedly been our of his depth in this series. There'll be no arguing with this result though, even if it does leave a sour taste after the unpleasantness that's gone on recently.

Yeah but isn't it too ridiculous for the bowlers not being allowed to even do that...its pretty nonsensical that they would try to control how the fielders or keepers pass on the ball back to there colleges in the field.
