Go to Taunton tomorrow to watch Somerset vs Pakistan?
Somerset will probably have an average-ish side out, but if all goes well I get to see Trescothick, Kartik and a few others.
Pakistan are without Amir and Asif but could still field Afridi, Gul and then some batting power in Umar Akmal and others.
I'd also get to see how gash Ajmal looks live.

I've never been to see a live professional game before, so this would be a first.
It'd only cost me ~£45 for ticket and travel as well.

Will go with whatever the first few people in this thread decide. I'd be alone ftr
Depends. Do you have a bet on?

Have you ever been to Taunton? I've heard the ground's close to the station?
Is it at all possible to get lost? :p
And if my train arrives at 10:25, will I make it in for 10:45?
Call the fixer to have the start delayed by15min, just to be on the safe side.

Nope, go left out of the station, left again, and left at the lights, then you cross the river and the county ground is on your right..

Would cut off limbs to spend a day at the county ground tbh..

Then sample the highest concentration of takeaways in the United Kingdom and let me know if the tramp is still there..

Yeah, didn't make it as my mum is a bitch. Apparently letting her know at 7:20am that I want to go to Somerset on my own for the day isn't sufficient warning.
**** off.

Aren't you like 17?
Well I asked and she gave me the "I'll need to speak to your step-dad" line, which is a no 150% of the time.
As shown by today again.
I believe one thing he said to me was "Who do you think you are to just decide to travel half way up the country on your own?" :wallbash:

I'm pretty gutted tbh, as after speaking to Neil last night I'd set myself on going. Had sorted a bag out and everything :(
Chance of seeing Gul and Akhtar steaming in with a new ball.

Sucks man, but you've got to put up with it. TBF 10 minutes notice isn't something parents are going to appreciate. I had a friend who, when he was 16, one day packed up up and went alongwith his buddies on a 3 day trip down to Goa without informing his parents. He never heard the end of it till he finally graduated and left the country. You're better off making them aware of your plans well in advance instead of giving them something to use against you for well, ever.

Aged seventeen? Nah, not for going and coming back on the same day.

Yeah, I was leaving at 7:45 to catch a train just before 9, to get to Taunton for half 10. To leave Taunton at half 7, get off a train at ~9pm and be home for before 10.
GAGFParents. Told my dad and he just lol'd.

Whatever be, calling your mom that even in a forum, is NOT cool, NOT just it, and NOT going to get you any respect, Marcuss..

Marcuss, maybe it was because you were going alone. It's a big bad world out there, you know.

I think a fair few people know about the relationship I have with my step-dad and how that has caused problems between my mum and myself.

I love how a few of the members here are slowly developing the same attitude to my step-dad that all my friends have
I must rant a fair bit about him.

Looks like I missed a ****ing good game as well :(
