The Indian bottom five is dreadful. You can't call this an international standard bottom five! Just too soft. Why can't they pick bowlers who can score enough runs? We keep picking on the top six each time they've failed, but the bottom five has failed all the time, and they're getting worse each time- now both Praveen and Jadeja are weak links in the batting.
Every other team bats deep, with bowlers capable of scoring enough runs to save them when the top six is out. India, on the other hand, have virtually nobody- just average tailenders at seven and eight, and nobody below. That's been the cause of many a low score they've been bowled out for, and an area of weakness. This should be thought about by the selectors sooner than later, as the top six can't keep winning for them all the time. There are options aplenty, at least four to choose, but the selectors look otherwise all the time.
The New Zealand team's fielding has earned the team a lot of wickets, with a few blinders scalping some of India's top batsmen. That's more food for thought for the Indian selectors, who seem to pick geriatrics like Munaf, Ojha and Praveen Kumar time and again.
