Hoping Kaneria stays in the XI if only because I think his potential replacement's a filthy chucker I reserve doubts about the probity of Ajmal's action.

The good thing to come out of this match would be the shattering of the newly developed arrogance of the Pakistani management after the win against Australia.

They were going to recall Younis and Yousuf..and they won a test match so they thought all problems were solved. A crushing defeat like this is often required to shake the PCB out of their comfort zone.

The Kaneria hate does seem a complete overreaction to me, but unlike the rest of the underperforming side, he actually has a pretty good potential replacement.
Whoever it was that took the gloves for Kamren when he was dropped after his special during the tour of Aus seemed halfway decent.

EDIT: Sarfraz Ahmed apparently.

That Sarfraz guy may be a better wicketkeeper but he is clearly a shambolic batsman, and they cannot afford another one of those.

Well this blokes the reserve WK, please go for him, it's just rank watching Kamran 'keep. I wince constantly, and it's really not fair on their bowlers.

Bit disappointed that Kaneria's been ditched and allowed to return to Essex, as I understood that Bryce McGain was going to be his replacement. Recall of a 36-year-old who's announced his retirement (again) does look a bit of a panic measure, but par for the course for Pakistan.

Am I the only one who thinks that Younis deserved this chance more than Yousuf?

I mean I understand Yousuf averages over 50 and he has been one of the greats in Pakistan cricket.. but last time Yousuf played any kind of competative cricket was back in Feb.. Younis in the other hand has played county cricket recently.. he has also showed some signs of getting back to his old form.. most importantly he is only 32.. that means he can play at least another 4 to 5 years for Pakistan..

if they are building a team for the future.. How does Yousuf fit in there.. he has retired... why not keep him retired.. i thought younis in place of Umar amin could be the best change in the side..

but again.. PCB is soo consistant in hurt pakistan cricket fans and making the same mistakes again and again..

Well Yousuf >>>> Younis still and Yousuf scored heavily on their last tour to England.

that maybe.. but how long ago was that.. 4 years ago..after watching yousuf bat in SL, NZ and Aus I personally think that he didn't look as good as he was back in 2006

second, No matter how good you are you need match practice in order to perform..

Agreed.

For me Younis deserved it more than Yousuf .

Btw, didn't Yousuf join some Religious group for life or a long period when he retired?

I think Yousuf looked pretty Solid in Aus, didnt get many scores but he was very comfortable, playing the ball late, seemed to have a lot of time. He was at ease.
