Evil Scotsman
Into my 4th season with Atletico Madrid. Won 3 Spanish titles, 2 Spanish cups, 3 Spanish Super Cups, currently hold the Champions League and have reached 1 other final, and just beaten Inter for the European Super Cup.
Transfer policy has been to make a marquee Spanish signing in each close season: between seasons 1 and 2 it was Cesc for £65m, between seasons 2 and 3 it was Fernando Torres for £35m, and in the close season just gone Gerard Pique arrived after I activated his £43m release clause. Aside from my marquee players, I've been active, but with a net spend of about £10m, and there's very few players left in the squad from when I originally arrived.
Squad:
1. Sergio Asenjo (at Atleti to start with, brilliant young keeper)
2. Gregory van der Wiel, £1.5m
3. Gerard Pique
4. Cesc
5. Danny Wilson, £10m
6. Leandro, brilliant 19 year old Brazilian regen currently on loan at Valencia
7. Santiago Cazorla, £17m
8. Ignacio Camacho, young DM who starts at Atleti who becomes a wonderkid.
9. Fernando Torres
10. Sergio Aguero
11. Angel Di Maria, £16m
12. David de Gea (back up keeper)
14. Mats Rits (15 year old Belgian wonderkid at start of game, signed for £1m)
15. Botha (young wonderkid striker from youth system)
16. Juan (regen wonderkid right back)
17. Thomas Ujfalusi
18. Antonio Lopez
19. Keko (wonderkid right winger)
20. Joao Moutinho, £17m
21. Martin Galvan (16 year old Mexican wonderkid, signed for £2.7m)
22. Edin Dzeko, £25m
23. Dodo (young Brazilian wonderkid left back, £1.1m)
24. Carlos Cuellar, £15m
25. Sergio Canales, £5.5m
Got plenty of options and cover, tend to play 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1, occasionally lopsided with 2 trequartistas and 1 winger, or occasionally a Christmas tree formation when I want to bolster the midfield for tricky away games.
Team plays attractive football, after scoring 84 goals in each of the first 2 campaigns, smashed all records with 104 in season 3.
Despite my squad being insanely strong, first question I was asked in my pre season press conference was whether I agreed that my squad needed strengthening
