Out of interest, in the various possible match-ups involving England, who would you support?
Depends who's playing for them. When Vaughan was in charge I not once supported England in a series. The guy was just too much of a ****.

I'll tacitly support them against Pakistan in this series coming. I'd marginally prefer Australia to win the Ashes but if they're 1-0 up I'll be cheering for England to square the series and make a game of it. I'd be right behind them if they toured the West Indies but less so at home. Against India I'd support them every time. If the fans or commentators of a particular team were being patronising or arrogant it'd usually cause me to want them to lose.

Hard to say, really.

Reasons for my choices

India/Pak - country of birth/land of my ancestors
Sri Lanka - Humble and well behaved.
Bangladesh - Asian....enough said
New Zealand/South Africa - good teams but slightly boring to watch
England-same as SA/NZ
West Indies - one of my fav teams a decade ago but not any more, sadly

Windies used to be my #2 quite easily but the way Lara was treated and the general attitude of most of their players (they dont seem to give a damn mostly, although it probably is juz Marlon Samuels) have made me not care about them enough. I love the Pak and English posters and to a great extent the kiwi posters too and hence those teams rank high. Sri Lanka under Sanga juz don't seem as likeable to me as they were under Jayawardene... Not the biggest fan of Sanga and the way he goes about stuff on the field.. And Australia.. well, Ponting, Symonds, Hayden, Clarke.. nuff said.

Its odd to me. I absolutely love seeing Australian players playing individually in any domestic T20 games for various teams, just begin hating them when they play in Oz colours for the national team. For example, my favourite bowler in T20s is Shaun Tait and I loved watching him play for RR in the IPL, but hated him when he played for Australia in the WC.

Strange call tbh, care to elaborate? Sure Sangakkara likes to sledge a little, but he always does so in a gentlemanly way imo (if there is such a thing) & generally carries himself in an exemplary fashion. I much prefer him than Jayawardene, but that probably has more to do with that horrible yelping noise Jayawardene makes when he appeals every 2nd delivery

lol.. think the Jayawardene interviews came across better to me than Sangas.. Too early to call, probably, but seems to whine quite a bit, which even if he is right, doesn't strike the best chord with me, at least.

But have the greatest respect for him as a batsman and as a columnist and stuff. His columns are always first-rate.

Although I hope Eng beat the Paks and Aus loses to India so I can get some juicy odds on the Ashes!
