How should India and BCCI help to GLOBALIZE CRICKET ?

Cricket is a game that needs globalization.

Cricket is played and followed very seriously in just 9 Nations.

How can India help to take this number to 30 say in the next four years before the 2015 WORLD CUP ????

These are my suggestions.

1.Gather funds of around $500 million (Its nothing to them after the 3 IPLs).

2.Select the 20 countries to help(continent wise) :

My list is :

Holland
Scotland
Ireland
Denmark
Belgium
Israel

Namibia
Kenya
Zimbabwe
Uganda

Argentina
Chile
Belize

Canada
USA

China
Honk Kong
Malaysia
Afghanistan
Kuwait

Papua New Guinea

List may change according to needs.

I have selected these nations as they already have quite good teams and cricket history and development is more feasible bcoz of large area & population(esp.China,Canada,USA & Argentina)

3.Set up a cricket league in these countries.

A league for each format
1.FC
2.Pro40
3.T20

with 6 proper clubs and full time contracted players.

It will require funds of around $20 million $1 million each nation may vary on profit basis.

Funds will be used to give the players full time contracts and marketing the leagues and help get franchise owners for the clubs.

4.Set up a few international competitions like WORLD SERIES for their national teams.

Funds around $15 million for WORLD SERIES.

5.Recruit a few talented players in IPL teams.

This will help to make cricket popular in these nations and encourage the youth.

6.Help these nations to build proper infrastructure and coaching facilities.

Funds around $300 million will be kept for this.

7.Give their players exposure by letting a few of our players play in their domestic leagues.

And also regular exposure at international level.

After these 7 steps are implemented we can have ICC WORLD CUP 2015 with 24-30 teams.

Why exactly, should the BCCI spend a major chunk of it's revenue on 'charity'?(for all practical purposes)

Oh come on Teja, cricket's a game in dying need of globalisation, it would be selfish for India to, gasp, spend that money on its own players and the development of its cricket.

and whats the credit in becoming no.1 out of 9 only ??
You're exactly right. It would be far better to be placed, say third in the world, out of those 30 countries competing at the 2015 World Cup. You beat 27 teams, not just 8. Excellent logic.

its common sense no use of playing or winning unless you get a global recognition

It.is.a.business. Not going to happen. But, I am not going to ask anyone to not indulge in wishful thinking. So, carry on.:)

the UN spends it ever year so why cant BCCI just for once only $500 million less than the cost of an IPL franchise
Actually the most expensive original IPL franchise cost "only" $113million, and the new franchises cost $370million and $333million respectively - so you can't even get your facts right. This might come as a shock too, but the BCCI looks after India because its Indian. The UN looks after the world because its an international organisation.

it should happen for the good of the game

we can spend $1 billion for just 3 IPL teams IPL team why not $500 million just for once for the lesser nations??

Absolutely, the recognition in those great cricketing areas of Papua New Guinea, Kuwait and not to mention Belize would make that $500million investment well worthwhile. Have you thought of pitching your idea to the ICC?
