I don't think people get how much Siddle (and to a lesser extent Hilfenhaus) is loved by Ponting the selectors.
Aside from looking like a bloke who drives a ute with an Esky full of cold ones in the back and probably sounds like Alf Stewart when he talks any particular reason why this is? Or have I answered my own question...?

Haha, nah. I think selectors just see them as the long term solution and refuse to believe they might be wrong under any circumstances. Same thing with North.

Siddle and Hilfenhaus could only get back into the team if Harris or Bollinger get injured or stop performing.
There we go, so if the new comer performs, it's good bye for Harris till next time (when somebody gets injured or out of form).

Hilfenhaus, I presume. Took 5 for the A side not too long ago, didn't he?
Ah, didn't know that, tbh. I'd assumed from the discussion in this thread both he & Siddle were crocked currently. If he's fit he'd be the obvious choice for continuity of selection. Oz selectors seem less inclined to pull random selections out of their arses than ours, although with Smith and Hazlewood both getting goes whilst barely out of training bras maybe that's changing now.

Hilfenhaus would have to get in, one of the few genuine swing bowlers going around at the moment

Flying Hilfenhaus in is a bit dodgy so soon after his comeback from injury. Could work if Smith is at 6 like in Patto's team though.

George isn't too far away from a call up you'd think. Wouldn't mind him getting a series in England under his belt ahead of the 2013 Ashes.

Soooooooooooo devo for Harris. George to replace him or no-one* imo.

Wasn't Hilfenhaus already in the test squad for the Pakistan games? Expecting George to get the call up. :)

International 12th Man
Hazlewood is already touring, maybe they will let him tag along for the experience, and if needed, he's had some game time and conditioning
