Extraordinary batting from Styris to singlehandedly win the game for Essex from nowhere against Surrey. And complete garbage, not for the first time, from Symonds. Still if SCCC will throw money at tossers like AS, then what can they expect?

That was simply brilliant, best end to a twenty20 match I have seen by a distance.

Amazing innings from Styris. Symonds dropping him in the penultimate over and then getting smashed for 22 in the last over.
I hadn't realised about the dropped catch. What a complete tosser, tbh.

Unbelievable batting from Scott Styris. Twenty20 cricket at it's very best. Sky didn't have much luck at the start of the season with 1 sided or low-scoring games, but that was a brilliant game of cricket. Essex looked done-for when Bopara got out in over 12 after playing like a muppet wasting deliveries, but Styris comes to the rescue with a glorious knock. Awesome stuff.

Essex v Surrey was a much better watch than Chile v Spain, it must be said.

Was quite amazing how it swung. Essex were gone needing 90-odd off 6, pulled it right back with Styris taking 27 off a Tremmers over & Tim Phillips 16 off one from Symonds to leave them requiring 25 off 2. Tremlett's last over only went for 3 to leave 22 needed off the last, which The Pig clobbed with a ball to spare.

Superb innings from Styris, it must be said. Right up there with Hussey against Pakistan.

Good win for Hants today, Vince getting runs which is nice to see.

Jones completed his 4 overs again and rather more successfully this time, encouraging signs.

Wood and Briggs continue to perform well in the absence of any overseas players and Dimi.

Getting rather annoyed at the ****ing imbecilic captaincy from Durham. Yea lets bowl 7-8 guys regardless. Lets leave a guy who's taken 3 for ****ing 10 off 3 ****ing overs with 6 balls unused. Not only that but bring back one of the most scattergun and expensive seamers to take over from him when they're needing 10+ an over. ****ing moron.

Look on the bright side: we lost too.

Just saw the extended highlights on Fox.

Extraordinary innings from Styris. Just about my favourite NZ player. Fantastic knock, and that lofted cover drive for six to win the game was a thing of beauty.

Kudos.

Saw it.

Symonds was a poor choice to bowl the last over I thought, his 'quicker' style is pretty gentle medium pace these days and obviously quite hittable. Should have kept one from Nel (or even Linley) back. Don't mind Symmo in the middle order (he came out too late last night though) as he will do some damage at times, not sure Younis wouldn't be as effective though. Looking at it from the wider angle, even though we lost, it was nice to see a packed Chelmsford have something to celebrate - Essex are among the few counties to be still selling these out and if anyone there last night was at their first game, they're sure to be back, which can't be a bad thing.

Today included Blackwell one of our better T20 bowlers coming on for the 15th and 17th overs. Took 2-14. Two overs unused. He's our 8th bowler used, after 3 genuine part-timers.

Mustard hand over the captaincy to someone with a working brain cell.

Does seem pretty stupid that Ben Harmison gets an over a game for the sake of using as many bowlers as possible.

James Taylor made a few more today. He's come back from a slow start to the season brilliantly. He's effectively carrying the Leicestershire batting line-up in the T20 stuff, he's been brilliant. Definitley see the lad playing International cricket at some point, definitley our most promising young batsman TBH.
Got himself another good score today.

62* off just 28 balls with 4 sixes.

I see a bit of normality returns today with some Championship matches - as Lancs v Yorks at OT is one of the games it may well mean the weather will break as well
