Don't despair yet. We have a test series with you guys next month. But actually I am looking forward to the series. Would be a measure of how good both the teams really are. The last test series in Sri Lanka really hurt and I hope this one is better.
That is definitely not good news. At least I had the World Cup to watch this month. Honestly there surely must be some other team we could play other than India. Australia? England? South Africa? Anyone?

That's why we need to spread cricket and create more test nations  . I keep suggesting that and people keep hitting it off :P:cool:

This will be one heck of a series provided

1) SL prepares grassy tracks
2) Play three really quick bowlers who can tickle the ribs (i.e. Malinga, Thushara, Fernando or Prasad, not 130k pie chuckers. If they really want a 130k bowler, Mathews is there to do it)
3) Play Kaushal Silva over PJ
4) And let indians have plenty of short stuff.

Aging Murali, inexperianced Randiv / Senanayake, or average Rangana herath is no match for the Indian batting lineup.

Lol you really underestimate India's test batting lineup, and overate SL's bowling.
Sehwag single handedly won a a game against SL last time at Galle, with Murali and Mendis in top form. This time I even doubt Mendis would play and this is would be Murali's second to last test series.

The fast bowling is no better.
Has Malinga even been playing 4 day first class cricket yet? And Fernando is an over grown brainless pie chucker, who has sucked continuously for the last decade.

Whatever it takes!!!
hb, i dont think both will be given any chance
I don't see who else merits it, tbh.. Rohit is still not convincing in ODIs, Kohli obviously has technique issues to sort out, even though I do see him as the successor to Dravid at #3 for us in the future and Raina can't play the short one at all.. I think Badri deserves another go. After all, he did make a 50 on debut and is just 2 tests old..

Dropping Yuvraj was just to give him a rap on the knuckles for his poor fitness wasn't it? I can't imagine us going into the World cup without him.

Yes the cooler air comparatively helps more swing. Scientific reason is cooler air is more thick as compared to hot air. Hence in cooler temperature the difference between air pressures at Rough Side (Turbulent Flow) and Smooth Side (Laminar Flow) hence the swing factor also increases. Hence in countries which have more cold temperatures the swinging grounds are more than as compared to Sub Continent.

Also in sub continent due to more rough ground the wear and tear on ball is more. The difference between smooth and rough side quickly vanishes and ball looses swing.

Reverse Swing used by Pakistani bowlers specially is due to excess wear and tear. After excess wear and tear one side still becomes more rough than the other and the same logic of laminar and turbulent flow is used for reverse swing:cool:
That's geek to me! Thanks.
