Absolutely ... think he may be a couple of years away from being a proper England bowler, but he has time on his side, certainly.

Despite his weight (which I dont reckon is as bad as people say) Patel was epic in the field when Notts where on Sky. It's a shame he hasn't been picked as he's been in great form in limited overs this season.
Yardy's got a few **** on him aswell to be fair.

Admittedly I haven't checked how he's gone this season but last I checked his list A record was dire.

Massive Sammy fan here, but he seems to be inflating if anything.
Think it's more his fitness rather than his size per se that's the prob tho. Constantly failed to make the targets set for him after warnings.

Pacing is definitely becoming an issue, we will need to look at that if we want to win the World Cup again. Bowling is lacking that attacking spinner, as really that is the main difference between the teams bowling attack. England don't have an out and out quick, they just have two spinners that can stall the innings. Of course that is probably partly due to our poor playing of spin.

I guess I shouldn't reply to posts attacking me 10 pages ago...
Anyway, another disappointing loss. Our team just looks so weak and selections aren't really helping either. I'm just presuming that the selectors are experimenting now rather when it actually matters - As in, the Australian press aren't going to murder them in the middle of our winter while distracted by the soccer.

Agree. Just a shame it took people this long to realize McKay is a nothing bowler, it was evident ever since he made his Test debut.

Nah, he is a decent enough bowler but he is deafinately not a good option for us in ODI cricket, and there are a few better Test match options better than him aswell IMO.
