Kieswetter ftw.
Ponting has struggled (got out) against short stuff ever since his form started fading. Goes to say no team is guaranteed to perform against quality short stuff in Limited overs game.Brilliant batting from Clarke.
Unusual to see Ponting and Clarke struggling so much against short pitched bowling.Something which will be remembered for the winter i guess.
Welcome to the forum mateHaha, this Australian side reminds me of us a few years back. ****e.
Haha Goldspin and Burgey will now call you for trollingThe Australian ODI team really is a shell of its former self. The batting just looks weak. It is not as if they are underperforming, there are poor and average ODI players in that line up. Speaking of Tim Paine, where is Marsh? He did a good job opening the batting for Australia, when fit and Paine could slot in to a consolidation role in the lower order. Heck, couldn't Hopes open, I've heard he does a job for the state. Paine has played some good innings at the top, but I feel he could be more consistent in the long term, down the order.

Yeah, I agree. I have no idea what the selectors are doing at all.The Australian ODI team really is a shell of its former self. The batting just looks weak. Just off topic for a moment, what is the story with Shane Harwood? I'm not saying he should be playing ODI cricket, just was a bit astounded seeing him bowling a few months (or maybe a year) back at around 145kph consistently (not nearly as astonished as seeing Harris clock in the mid 150s, but that is another story). Looked to really be getting the ball down. Recall an interview with Nannes saying that bowlers should take the 19-23 years out of the game to let the body mature and that is what he and Harwood did but haven't heard much of him (ever) about a potential international callup (bit old now, obv), for a long term spot. Stats look alright, especially in OD cricket.Yeah, I agree. I have no idea what the selectors are doing at all.
My guess would be that they are calculating speeds at different points after the release of the ball. I believe that the speed that the guns record is measured a split second after release, rather than at release; how soon after release may be the cause of divergence.Does anyone know why the speed guns from cricinfo and the one on sky are different.
