Durham's batting getting stronger by the game, bowling is still rather weak unfortunately. The wanting to bowl a 7-8 different people each time, not using the full allotment for the better bowlers in the format and giving Plunkett a chance to bowl his usual expensive wayward dross not helping things.

Interesting to see Lancs on tv tonight, we usually play like a drain when i watch though. Team isn't much to get excited about atm

tbh more excited about watching Notts, looking forward to seeing Mullaney & Hales, Patel in great form as well.

Morgan going nuts for Middlesex. 60* off 24 balls, Shah on 23* off 20 at the other. Morgan went 6 4 4 4 4 in the last over when he got on strike.

It seems a ploy by a lot of counties to bowl 7-8 different people. Tis stupid. You want your best guys bowling unless they get hit out of the attack. It's like they've decided to go the complete opposite way of England who just swept their way to the T20 World Cup.

Morgan tearing the Taffs apart, good.

Beaten to it, by the Northerner :(

That Hales run-out wasn't out. Keeper knocked the bails off with his hand before the ball came in. Pretty annoying. Could see it clearly in the view that was looking straight up the pitch. If the umpire had seen that it would clearly have been not out. Just wish I could get a picture of it, as paused on Sky + you can clearly see that the keeper had disturbed the stumps with the ball still in the air miles from the stumps.

 Handy final over from Malan for Middlesex. Tait bowled it, and it ended up going for 6, 4, 4, 4, 6, 1lb. Not a bad effort. Morgan finished with 79* off 34.

Edit: Nice. Sent an e-mail to Sky about the Hales run-out and the issue just got a mention :D Give me a job as the 3rd Umpire TBH.

Is it me, or is Samit Patel getting fatter?

Clearly having no effect on his bowling, mind...

How has he bowled? Have been watching the football. Just turned on to see a 2nd run out that shouldn't (and in this case rightly wasn't) have been given due to the keeper knocking the bails off before the ball hit the stumps. Had never seen that happen before today, and then it happens twice in 1 game, very strange.

Ravi Bopara in scratching around before smacking one straight to a deep fielder shocker. Definitely starting to lose faith in Rav, just isn't making the most of his talent, quite frustrating.

Won't stop Gooch coming up with some monotone soundbites no doubt. Real shame about Sussex' run being halted by Gloucestershire's mighty no-name line-up. Bet that was a quality game with all those slow mediums on display.

You could always bowl it a bit quicker like, say, Liam Plunkett and be a dire bottom-of-the table T20 side like the Minor County. A matter of choice I suppose...

So KP leaving, no Mendis and Kabir Ali out for the season. Not much to cheer for Hampshire fans really.

Would make Middlesex' T20 batting quite handy if KP moves there, not that he'll get a chance to play, but still.

Looks like I might have to start following a new County  KP's decided to leave Hampshire because of Geographical reasons, seeing that he lives in Chelsea. The fact he's not willing to play for a side outside London it limits his options to Surrey and Middlesex for next season. Not hugely important who he picks, or if they actually want him, as he won't have much of a chance to play for them anyway.

Not been a great day for Hampshire TBH. Pietersen leaves, Kabir's out for the rest of the season and it's now official that Mendis won't be joining us at all.

What will, of course, bring about some dummy spitting, will be if KP toddles off to Middlesex and then gets released to play for them in the Championship next April and May
