Cricinfo claims we've only picked 10 players too. Looks like they've missed Dan Christian, who's making his debut tonight.

I thought he looked brilliant last year, his hundred in the T20 Cup was superb. He just looked a class player, and made the runs to back that up, so I thought it was a good choice, but he didn't really do that much for England, though more often than not did get us off to a flyer with some early boundaries. I also see them sticking with the winning side, but if he continues to fail miserably for Hampshire, then they're going to struggle to justify that selection I think, especially with someone like Davies waiting in the wings.
Cricinfo missed Somerset's selection of Pollard for the first couple of overs....
So far, he's taken two wickets. Not bad....

Mendis not in the Asia cup squad, hope so much this means he can join us, need him to be left out the tests against India as well though.

Chesney Hawkes, I mean Hughes, almost counts as one I suppose. First look at him tonight, there could be something there I think. Long shot for a Lions tour if he can maintain his form. at Rikki bowling an over of full tosses that only cost two.

You reckon he'll get picked by England in T20i's if he continues to flop for us? Surely they'll bring Steve Davies in? Though knowing our selectors, they'll either stick with the failing Lumb, or bring in one of Cook, Bopara or Denly.
He was fairly limited in his usefulness in the World T20 - only managed 137 runs in 7 innings, his only saving grace being that at least he scored them quickly.

He's got a role to play, but his spot should be the least secure, particularly as England don't play another T20I until late August/September, if Davies has a good T20 Cup then he should be at the top of the order.

Fair enough to say Kerrigan is doing a job for Lancs this season.

Morgan continuing his LO form with 48*(30).

Given the conditions and the way everyone else has batted, this has been a fine innings from Ian Bell so far. One of the few batsmen to actually find some timing on this pitch, and he's now striking at a very healthy rate. Does look a much better LO player nowadays AFAIC. Been putting some good figures up for Warwickshire and could be worth another go in ODi's. His ODi record was never actually that bad either. He'd be up there as one of the next middle order batsmen in line for the ODi side for me.

Safe to say Pollard has made an imediate impact...wish they were showing that game on sky as much as I enjoy Ian bell.

Wow. That is some effort from Pollard.

Did Woakes bowl as well as his figures suggest he did?

Pollard hit 89 not out from just 45 balls!
Collins took 1-26 from his four overs, but Somerset won with two overs to spare....

Hmm a couple of very familiar sights. I reckon if Kent had Shah at 4 they could just about guarantee a score of between 100-120 every match.

Yes, helpful pitch and accurate bowling.
The most surprising thing is that he is bowling at 85/86mph now instead of 80mph.
