Oh I dunno ... I'm not sure if the committee even cares what happens out on the field anymore, as long as the money's coming in. Suspending your number one bowler is never going to help, although I can appreciate the reasons for it. Looks like we need a break from four-day cricket for a while and make a fresh start in the T20s, which if our 40-over form is anything to go by may bring a little more success.

Edit: Younus Khan has got 40 and Chris Tremlett has hit a couple of 4s and got into double figures - no doubt the club website will latch onto that as one of the many 'positives' to be taken out of this game.

Lumb gers his standard 30 odd, suddenly worried about losing now, still if we set them 250 we might have a reasonable chance.

Naik of Leics who had just 21 wickets from 15 matches before this one, has just finished the match with a seven wicket haul! Younus finished with 77, but it was runs in the first innings that were needed.

Wonder if Robin Martin-Jenkins is regretting his decision to retire, is certainly ending his career on a high point had been ridiculously good this season.

It might be that knowing he was only going to play half a season (and it would be his last) has helped him to really give it 100% - something difficult to achieve over five months.

Hmm, seems i missed us getting ****ed over by the weather again. Still i think the last time we rolled them over cheaply in the first innings they scored about 350-3 i 2 days or something in the second dig.

Decent first up win in the T20, at last Cross got a game.

Bloody rain at the Rose bowl with Essex 99/6, really could have done with a win here, probably declared a bit late.

Hants should be decent and have won their match yesterday, like any self-respecting county:)

Luke Wright takes 5, honestly the standard of div 2.........

Couldn't possibly comment on how the donkey has yet again failed to force home an advantage by being incapable of bowling out absolute nobodies. Definitely couldn't comment on how another left arm spinner of dubious quality has managed, in the same game, to reduce Anti-cricketshire to 71-7 by taking 11-5-10-4.

Weather wiped out what looked set to be quite an interesting last day at Derby.

Annoying to have Sky playing a repeat of the Test when there's a T20 game on - today was the scheduled last day of course.

Lol at Surrey. Nice to see the impact of the two overseas batsmen being a tremendous 3 runs off 5 balls.

LOL @ Surrey. 21 for 5 after 6 overs. Younis Khan has gone down like a lead balloon.
Younis' swing bowling may prove extremely useful in the CC season when Surrey see themselves staring down the barrel with the oppo at 400/1 but he's not the most inspired choice for a county who need someone who can pretty much carry the side in his back, nor is Symonds who really has sunk in the last year or so.
