Shame to see Gilleh fail, would have liked to have seen him get a few.
Hamps going surprisingly well. We've got good balance in our side now that Dimi's back. We bat deep with Cork and Briggs down at 9 + 10, and have plenty of bowling options. Get Mendis in and we'll have a cracking side. Hoping we can get Stevens out quickly, as he could do some damage at the end. Can't argue with 80/6 off 14.3 though.

Nice to see us scrape home. Ervine played nicely and without his knock we'd have struggled. Lumb put in a typical Lumb performance. I'm always fairly confident he'll get us off to a good start if he gets over the first few deliveries. Hopefully he'll get a few this year as the season goes on, plenty of games for him to find his touch.

Herath has left, was picked for the Asia cup, cannot say I am dissapointed, would rather us be giving Briggs a game anyway.
Look like we will be left with no overseas player for the championship though, really think we should be looking to bring someone in.

Cheers for that Craig, will keep an eye out for it, apparently they've covered a few games now but nothing on the guide, will have a look around and IQ them if I can find them.

Definitely isn't players like Schofield and Gareth Barry. They need to go back to basics. Pick their best 4 seam bowlers and pick their best batsmen. They've plenty of part-time spin options already without picking Gareth Barry and Schofield.
At present they've two now decent bowlers in Dernbach and Tremlett. Meaker who's erratic but might make it as a 4th option. Then you've got those two numpties.

Hants have brought in Daniel Christian for the twenty20, no complaints at that especially with Dimi out.
Hope we can get some relatively quick runs here and set Essex something tomorow, not sure we have the firepower to actually force a result. Kabir could be out for the rest of the season which is a disaster.
