*Official* Bangladesh in England

Anyone else slightly worried by the form of Strauss and Cook? Cook failed again yesterday, against Bangladesh, taking his FC record for the season to 258 runs at 28.66 with a top score of 72. Strauss isn't going much better either. He's managed 354 runs at 29.50 with a top score of 92. I really hope they come good soon, and find some form, as we really can't afford to go to Australia with 2 out of form opening batsmen with dodgy techniques again. They were found out there badly last time when out of form, and I don't want it to end up happening again. There are options in County Cricket also. Michael Carberry's had an excellent start to the season, Rob Key's just scored a brilliant double century, Steven Davies could potentially open as could Jonathan Trott. Hopefully they won't be needed, with Strauss and Cook finding some form, but we really can't afford them going to Australia badly out of form.

Strauss got his 92 this week though so he could say he is finding form at the right time.I agree about Cook but i doubt a lack of runs from him will lead to a defeat in either test in the early part of the summer.

As for the list of alternatives you missed off the leading run scorer in Division 1 so far this season.Adam Lyth.

We've got six months...not to sound arrogant but I certainly won't be worrying until they repeat that form in Tests.

Interesting role for Panesar, bats 10 and then gets thrown the ball for the first time when the Bangladeshis are 9 down in their second innings.

Bopara getting 6-17 overall doesn't say too much about the Bangla batting.

At least those wickets were all tailenders.

And while he was away, Sussex lost. Nobody bowled a lot of overs and clearly conditions favoured the seamers but Bopara shouldn't have been brought on ahead of him in the second innings; he must have felt that was a waste of time.

Well this is the good news:

Despite the defeat in three days, there was good news for Bangladesh who are optimistic skipper Shakib Al Hasan will have made a full recovery from chickenpox to play at Lord's.

Coach Jamie Siddons said: "He's much better. He bowled and batted today and walked some laps. I'm pretty confident he's pacing himself well and will definitely be putting his hand up to play.

"That's good news for us because he's an integral part of our line-up and balances our team out nicely."

The only obvious downside being that we've now got international cricket's least adept captain back at the helm in place of Mushfiqur Rahim, who has shown signs of being a natural fit for the role in his time as the U/19s captain and through his general maturity and temperment.

Jesus, Grant Flower is still playing in CC? Had no idea about it, had a decent game against the touring Bangladeshis as well.
