Cleary
I imagine SA fans are fuming.
It's just really really dumb, I'd like to see the logic behind this decision. When I saw the news on my phone I couldn't beleive it...I thought they had made a mistake because Cleary's name was on the redbacks contract list. Can't believe it's happened again. A bloke who's found a way to average around 30 with the ball on Adelaide Oval and SACA turfs him.
Cleary to play Test cricket in 2011. Cassel better be awesome (hope he can swing the ball)
Nobody gets it. It's just plain stupid and not that suprising really seeing as the SACA is making these decisions. I reckon he just got dumped because when he didn't get his 1st round contract with South Australia originally he was very dissapointed about it ( even though like a week later it said he did get one on the SACA website )Still can't believe Cleary wasn't even offered a contract. If he just wanted a change of scenery or even if South Australia had been outbid for him - fair enough. But why actually axe him in favour of some of the pie-chuckers that were retained? I just don't get it.
Read somewhere that Mickey Arthur didn't want him?Heard about Beer and Cleary over the past day or two. Also hearing that Cosgrove is shopping himself around to District Clubs in Melbourne, as his management doesn't want him getting big coin, and getting back to playing and enjoying cricket; even though he was offered a contract with WA if he wanted it.
Has been seemingly out-of-favour for a while. I've no idea why, always bowls well, rarely has a really bad stretch (injuries aside) and is sometimes outstanding. SACA's long-term planning is just poo right now. It's weird for them to cite the injury history of Harris and Cleary whilst picking up Cassell. Whether you're the donkey or the speed merchant, you always have to bowl big overs for your wickets at AO.Still can't believe Cleary wasn't even offered a contract. Yeah, no suprise. Not really a huge loss. From all talk, Wise won't be hanging around. Back to Melbourne.
Harris/George/Cleary would have been bloody awsome and with Dan Cullen in form it would of been even better. Ah what could of been...Read somewhere that Mickey Arthur didn't want him?

You know what would have been a top attack? Harris/George/Cleary. FFS.
Ferguson is almost fully recovered now IIRC. He is going to join the team in pre season training around mid may.Apologies if it has been mentioned earlier. But to the SA fans, is Ferguson expected to be back to full fitness for the start of the 10/11 season? And will he get a full pre-season in or will he still be in the rehab stage? (completely lost track of time, where he'd be at)
You know what I find interesting? Wise would've probably played for Victoria this year just gone. We had to play Sheridan a couple of times, even though he wasn't close to ready. Think he's a great 4th or 5th seamer within a state, and a better option than Duval. At the very least, he helps build pressure for other bowlers to capitalise upon.Yeah, no suprise. Yeah and Gilmour played for Victoria a few times last season aswell and he didn't get a contract for next season. Wise is deafinately a better option than Duval, don't know how the hell Duval got a contract ( oh thats right we are talking about the SACA here ), he played about 5 or 6 FC games last season and barely took any wickets and I think he played one FRC game to go with that aswell and then he got injured. Wise isn't young or handy with the bat but he has worked on swinging the ball instead of just being steady. He is much better back up option than Duval, can't see Duval playing anything but OD cricket next season and possibley the 2020 games. You know what I find interesting? offered a contract and turned it down, to head back to melbourne.Unless Tait decides to play FC cricket which is highly unlikely then we won't have much fast bowling reserves at all. Duval and Wise ( who I don't think even got a contract) aren't up to standard, Putland isn't to much better and if he plays then he has to open the bowling. Richardson? maybe.
If Cleary stayed the team would of been pretty gun IMO.
