Battle of Cricketers - CW's Favorite Cricketer

The Little Master. As a kid I had a packet of Top Trump cards called Mike Brearley's Batting Aces (into which the author of The Art of Captaincy had modestly included himself, but I digress) &, at the time Hanif's 499 was the highest FC score so he was a banker and have always loved him since.

this, real contrast between this and the last one, but thems the breaks i guess
How do you say that when its on people's tastes though? It's not like it's about who is the better cricketer.

There is no tangible "more favourite player" (unless we did a poll, or contest as we're seeing now).

I find the story of Hanif's innings amazing, I reckon I'd vote him over many. May not be alone there.

Hanif - a real contender for this - got to respect the way he carried the Pakistan batting for his entire career

well given it's fave players surely ones that people have seen are going to be faves, and the tadpole and niall, are just average cricketers.

just seems a weak round to me, but what do i know....

Hanif - its a bit of a lay down misere when he's up against a guy who's played 30-odd ODIs for an associate and someone who's got a cult following for having a weird name.

O'Brien, obvz. His 72 against Pakistan was miles better than any innings Hanif ever played..

He's also the only cricketer in the poll that I've ever met and hence can genuinely say he's a good guy.
