Actually, reading the article again, it seems like Hall took 228I was listening to the on-line commentary earlier and it was suggested that it might be, or else the Jamie Hall effort alluded to earlier. Hall's innings was recorded as 304 minutes which you would expect to be around 230 balls.

They might get away with it by saying the volcano ash in the air overhead was causing the ball to hoop round corners...Could be, doesn't always follow though. Sometimes the inspector concludes it was just poor batting/ overhead conditions. Anyone who was planning a trip to the County Ground on Saturday is likely to be disappointed though.
