Battle of Cricketers - CW's Favorite Cricketer

GIMH

Norwood's on Fire
Thorpe.

I'd probably vote for Fleming in a lot of battles where I'm 'neutral' if you will, but Thorpe is a legend. Shame he never got that elusive Ashes win tbh.

And Siddle's a massive ****, I'd rather vote for like, um, anyone than him

Jungle Jumbo

International Vice-Captain
Thorpe, probably my favourite English batsman growing up. The Sri Lankan innings were as gutsy as I've seen from an English player.

Yeah, only the inclusion of Thorpe prevented a big minus vote from me for Siddle. Along with Bollinger he has all the attributes of being a classic Aussie hate-figure for English fans, except that he's not as good as most of his predecessors. Cue 35 wickets for him in the 10/11 Ashes...

Racist  Might be lucky to get a game tbh, though Ponting loves him and he does bust his boiler all the time.

Fleming for me here, narrowly from Thorpe. Two quality left-handers in the same round is a shame. Hope Thorpe goes wildcard.

Very harsh. I'm a big fan of Siddle. Doesn't strike me as anywhere near as big a **** as many other Aussie bowlers (and let's not exclude Stuart Broad here...)

Anyway, in this company Siddle is outclassed, but I'd have voted for him if he was in the last battle.

Thorpe & Fleming... Two similar players in many ways, but Thorpe ground out difficult runs under difficult circumstances when Fleming made it look so easy (until he reached 90-odd, anyway).

I'll vote for Fleming here, but on another day could have gone for Thorpe.

Geez, I love the other two, and would/will vote for them any time coming up in the future. However, have to go with the devil you know. Really good fellow, and will bust his arse out on the field for anyone.
