Better batsman than Carberry. Well he looked immeasurably more accomplished in the televised Sky games last year.
Carberry has the habit of playing the ocassionaly awful looking innings in which he gets totally stuck (sounds like that happened yesterday) but at his best he looks better than Adams.

Having said that Adams has done fantastically over the last year, has his own technique and is now a very solid batsman in all formats, very pleased for him.

Any County fantasy cricket game about?

Obviously modesty forbids to mention who was the Cricketweb champion last year. One presumes tey may wait until after the IPL, but then as stated before, much of the season,ll be over.

Oh yeah, and 135 years of hurt, surely it'll be Zummerzets year this season?

All it'll take is for us to dig up our pitch, and Durham to contact the Ebola virus, so I'm quite hopeful.

Could be. They might actually play Ben Brown as keeper in T20. Hodd will play in the FC games though.
Yeah, I like Hodd but 68@8.50 with a HS of 16 in 8 innings isn't the most flattering record.
Brown's T20 record isn't much better either now I look at it.

It would be a shame if you're right. I'm trying to think who you've got. Bresnan, Shazad & Rashid spring immediately to mind. Plus the double-barrelled bloke who sounds like he should be playing for Sussex. Have I forgotten anyone?
Not really. The thing is if Bresnan,Shahzad and Rashid end up in England squads then we are depleted even more.We have arguably the best spin attack in the country with Wainwright and Rafiq at the club too but the lack of pace bowlers is a worry. It doesn't exactly help when you see Tino Best has been signed as an overseas.

To be fair the kids like Hannon-Dalby are promising but they are kids and need to learn bloody quickly if we are to compete.

The batting will rely too much on Rudolph, yes there is a great depth to it with the plethora of allrounders but they lack top quality in the top 6 which will hurt them time and again.

All in all i am not hopeful of a successful campaign.

The Telegraph do a fantasy game - covers LVCC and the one day/T20 stuff - usually starts in May but it costs £6

As for last year IIRC there were ony two of us trying - which left you as next to last mate

meh, I'll take any win I can get, and it was a fairly respectable position overall in the league, was in the top 100 at one point.

What a completely moronic choice of statistic regarding wickets per match. Onions helped England draw Test matches with the bat. Onions has been comfortably the best seam bowler in the short space of time he's played, despite the way he's been underused - particularly in respect to giving the new ball to 35 averaging mediocrity. Davies has been consistently awesome in County Cricket. the going back over several seasons is to show he's been consistent, it's not been a one off where he's averaged sub-20. He has done it over 5-6 seasons. He's as good now as he has been in the past. When players change dramatically over a period of time it does become pointless looking at what they did 5-6 seasons ago. This applies to players who are past their best, have had a bad injury, matured etc.
Moronic posts? A classic case of the pot calling the kettle black?

I always think it is sad when somebody cannot win an argument with logic and facts, and has to resort to abuse. You can make as many rose tinted posts as you like, but nobody is going to take you seriously if you don’t have any facts or evidence to back up what you are saying.

Regarding Davies, all the facts I can find show that he doesn’t take a lot of wickets (for whatever reason). If you have some facts to show otherwise why don’t you post them and we can all have a look.

As for your ludicrous suggestion that Onions has out played Broad and Anderson in virtually every test, wrong again. In the 8 games they have played together (bowled in 15 innings) Onions had the best bowling figures twice (5-38 in the first innings at Lords and 3-86 in the first innings at Centurion). Broad was best in 6 innings and Anderson 7 innings. Not even close. As for his batting, a man who gets past 4 only once in 10 knocks aint going to win a spot for his batting. Nothing he has done with the bat compares with Anderson and Monty at Cardiff last year. He’s an international trundler, and he was dropped for the Joberg test because in his previous 8 innings he had taken 11 wickets at 47 a piece.

The only thing the Aussies would like to see more than Onions bowl the first over in Brisbane is to see Harmless bowl the second one.

Whatever you say about Davies's wicket taking ability you can't ignore his average. He may only take 3 a match but he takes them ridiculously cheaply.

See Worcestershire got up. Not every game a player takes 14 wickets & ends on the losing side.

Probably happened dozens of times over the years tho.

Great stuff from Finn. Thought the Jones taking all the wickets for Worcestershire was Simon...

Was at The Oval yesterday. Another season of mediocrity carried by Ramps looks on the cards. Nel is finished whilst Meaker and Dirtbag bowl gun barrel half volleys. Going to get worse as well. Their overseas player for early season is Pakistani hack, Rao Anjum. Captain Rory-Hamilton Brown is the Roelof van der Merwe of English cricket. Good limited overs cricketer but not a first class cricketer.

Yeah, I was there Friday. I see Derby's number 11 (the curiously named Footitt, or is it Foottit) out-scored all but one of Surrey's top five ... (sigh) it's going to be a long season ...

I imagine it happened more often when teams had only one or two decent bowlers, and a few amateurs making up the numbers - and there were more 'result' wickets.

So you're still cherry-picking rubbish statistics along the same lines then, bypassing bowling averages entirely. There is nothing to argue here because they're just tiny hand-picked samples that are often obscure and barely relevant to start with.

Good grief.Yorkshire cruising to victory.:-O

Great all round team performance and these points could be vital if we complete the job.

Looks like Surrey are rubbish again.Shame.

Amazing how quickly Monty has regressed, from a wicket taking test bowler to virtually nothing in the space of 18 months. It is a remarkable fall from grace and you would say he has virtually no chance of making the ashes squad in the winter.

To be honest if Sussex don't win that league by about 30 points then they want shooting. It is a pretty awful division and despite not being as strong as they were a couple of years back Sussex have got far too much quality to not get promoted at least.

The other side to go up with them could be Leicestershire, they have some very good youngsters and a couple of wily old heads to help them along in Nixon and Hoggard. The only danger could be if Taylor gets an England call up if there are injuries/loss of form as he is a class act in their batting line up.
