Newman out. At least it wasn't Strauss, though he does have a poor record after being not out overnight in Tests doesn't he? Or is it only after he's made a century? Can't remember.
Looking forward to the highlights of Finn's bowling.

Finally stumps and Strauss survives.

See Jimmy Adams scored a ton. It's good to see him carry on his fine form from last season.

Any Yorkshire fans???

Whats your opinion on Jacques Rudolph??? I know he has scored bucket loads of runs for you lot over there and he does the same for his franchise in SA.

He has so much talent and looks the real deal...its a real disappointment he didn't succeed when he represented the Proteas.

Amazing stuff from Finn. 9 in the innings and 14 for the match.
Good news - much more of this and we may genuinely have a find.

Other good news imo is Yorkshire fielding a side whose average age is 25 and 10 of whom were home-grown. I'd give them 10 bonus points as a matter of principle.

Should the University matches really deserve FC status?
If Richard was here, I'm sure he'd tell you that no, they don't.

As matches, they indeed aren't up to that standard. I guess it's just one of those things that has always happened so will keep happening.

Plenty of decent Leggies with potential going around in England at the moment, will be interesting to see how they all perform this season with their counties. Will Beer, Rashid, Scott Borthwick to name some. Beer and another leg spinner ( can't remember his name might be a Maxwell? ) both had a clinic with Warne last year during the ashes so that should benefit them.

Looking forward to seeing how Durham perform to.

McCullum at Sussex for the T20 stuff then. Hodd's T20 record is pretty dire, reckon he will be the one to miss out then Z?

Won't keep us up though.Relegation looms this season with our weak attack.
It would be a shame if you're right. I'm trying to think who you've got. Bresnan, Shazad & Rashid spring immediately to mind. Plus the double-barrelled bloke who sounds like he should be playing for Sussex. Have I forgotten anyone?

Could be. They might actually play Ben Brown as keeper in T20. Hodd will play in the FC games though.

Better batsman than Carberry. Well he looked immeasurably more accomplished in the televised Sky games last year.

Great stuff from Finn. Thought the Jones taking all the wickets for Worcestershire was Simon...

Was at The Oval yesterday. Another season of mediocrity carried by Ramps looks on the cards. Nel is finished whilst Meaker and Dirtbag bowl gun barrel half volleys. Going to get worse as well. Their overseas player for early season is Pakistani hack, Rao Anjum. Captain Rory-Hamilton Brown is the Roelof van der Merwe of English cricket. Good limited overs cricketer but not a first class cricketer.

First 100 of the summer for Ramps.

EDIT
And gone. Surrey in serious danger of following on against the might of Derbyshire.
