God the fielding standards are so poor in this competition. You almost expect every ball hit towards the boundary to be misfielded.

RR should be 1/10 rather than 0/24 due to just poor fielding.

FFS, I put Theron and Warne in my fantasy team and they bowl some real uncharacteristic ****.

Hopefully Lumb does not blow out before the World Cup. Though he probably won't be facing such **** bowling during the WC and the fielders you expect will also be able to catch the ball.

Lumb really is a top selection from Warne. He has shown himself to be one of the top in the IPL.

On the other hand, Sreesanth really is an embarassment. He should not get in to the Kings XI team and should be repremanded for his actions today, Shivastava is really a far superior bowler with a far better temperament.

The fielding in this IPL has been terrible too. The commentators keep noting, and rightfully so, that the fielding coaches really aren't earning their pay.

What did Sreesanth do tonight?

Bisla showing beautifully how idiotic it is to stand up to a fast medium bowler.
He had to come up though. Pathan has not got the pace or the ability to make a batsman not want to waltz down the track to him.

Top knock from Lumb comes to an end. Not easy on the eye but he is effective.

Protested about a no ball by putting his foot just behind the line, as bowlers tend to. He then bowled another no ball. On the free hit, Lumb hit him for four and he sarcastically clapped the umpire and Lumb before giving Lumb some verbals after the next ball.

No, I totally disagree. There is a reason that batsmen do not charge bowlers in Test matches and it is because it is a dangerous thing to do. A keeper coming up merely eliminates this tendancy. Moreover, it pretty much eliminates the caught behind dismissal and means that any wide has a possibility of going for 5 wides.

Haha, he seriously is a nutter. Look forward to seeing the footage. Will be funny. At least he's entertaining.

You seem to contradict yourself here, it's obviously something that players are far more prone to do in T20s. A dismissal is important yes but a dot ball in a T20 is more important than a dot in any other form of the game.

Kartik out so KKR have to drop Bond for Mendis. Could be costly.

Gayle + McCullum back together though.

Just BTW, this is more a rant by me (as I hate it when poor keepers stand up to me) than a well constructed observation.

Players are prone to do it in T20 as they want to get quick runs, but let them do it. It is not a flawless strategy and is extremely risky, especially if a bowler can get a slower ball or a yorker in. What is truely desirable for batsmen is when a wide goes for four or an thin edge goes for four because a keeper (a poor one at that, it is not as if Bisla is a Gilchrist, Dhoni or Sangakkara) is standing up to a bowler about 10kph quicker than he is used to.

This could just be me, but I think that Bond has been really unlucky in this IPL. He has bowled with speed and put the batsmen in trouble.

Yeah I've thought he has mostly bowled good tidy spells occasionally blemished by an over or two in a match going for a few runs. Never expensive in all of his overs though and always asking questions of the batsman. Should be looking at more wickets, can see him getting back into KKR before too long.
