That would have been quite the piss-take if they had declared on the hat-trick ballWould it be harsh to do it before hat-trick ball?
Yeah, like NZ have got a chance to get 400+ in the 2nd innings against this Australian attack Have you watched the series to date?Hmm wonder if Ricky the chimp can conjure up another stupid arrogant declaration and end up sharing a series against lowly New Zealand...
Maybe not.

I cant think of anyone worse. I dont even know why he is still bowling. He is just rubbish. Is Patel the easiest specialist spinner to face at International level?
IMHO main reason is bowler workload. Minor reason is to avoid *faint* chance of the unthinkable (injury to a couple of bowlers, others bowl poorly, NZ bat well). Why do they not declare?
i agree with u on both. patel needs to find the form that had him running through the sl side 6 months ago. few months of first class cricket should fix that and he is only young so he'll come back stronger.2 things the New Zealand selectors should have learnt from this test:
1. Martin is WAY past his prime (not that his prime was ever actually that good, bar those few tests again SA) and should never play international cricket again.
2. For all the hard work and effort Patel puts in, he simply isn't good enough, especially on NZ pitches.
I hope like hell Martin is gone after this dismal performance.
